Most of 1898 Athlone urban is soccer orientated. Garrison town and all that.
Country blow ins would be more GAA orientated. Meanwhile Brigid's area ( Roscommon 4) would benefit from blow ins too( Ahernes Kilbride's, Dolans, Cake..,....

Are they going ahead with a Leinster Championship this year?

Like Kerry. Hopefully a good strong ref will be appointed.

Ballagh IS in Roscommon. 1898 Athlone built up "Connert" side is in Westmeath.Areas on the western side built up since 1898 are in Ros and are part of Ros GAA.

You'd expect better from a fluent Sinn Féin Gaeilgeoir as Tír Conaill.

Quick direct kicked ball into forwards who are moving off their men and showing for the ball......
Also a good big man in the FF line as plan B.

If it doesn't come off our little €160 water charge will be small fry compared to the charges ye'll have up in the North East.

This is a nice semi competitive game to have and an Oul run out in Croker as well.
Be nice to win the little cupeen too but sure it's a biteen meaningless.

He'd be better keeping those comment " in house".
R4life those Diva 1A& B were of equal status and were randomly drawn the first year (1998-99).

No harm to the Rossies. But Meath should be up instead. +8 better off. The sooner that stupid head to head rule is scrapped the better.
It's not stupid. Two teams level - "who won the game between them?" - very logical. Score difference can be totally skewed by some team fielding a B side in the last round of the League.

Ahh sure it's a meaningless oul game in reality. It's just to pad out the crowd if ever there's a Cork/Kerry Div 1 final  ;D

A special mention for Neil Collins who has an impressive campaign in our defence.
Indeed ...but he's a natural instinctive defender unlike most of the lads beween 2 and 6. I'd love to see Murray in the corner Collins to FB and Carty CHB. Also think Stackeen would improve things at the back too.

More bad news for the 3 bucks as I hear another poll shows support for your County's favourite party rising again. :P

2003 Division  wasn't the same as there were 16 teams in D 1 in 2 Sections.
I think I read on stolensheep it was 1992 ??
Ross4life might tell us as he seems to have a lot of facts.
