That Croatia goal means i can't finish top now. Congrats Shamrock Shore.

I hope that injury for Paul Conroy isn't as bad as it looked. The way this contest is going 0-8 might be enough to win this game?

At least Martin very much so Carney is great to listen too.

Only 25k at this double header? i see Michael Daly is given a start a bit odd when you consider he played little football this year.

Poor 2nd half only 11 scores. Monaghan the better side built on a better defence. Thats the momentum of Kildare now stopped and next week will be their 5th game in 5 weeks and against Galway playing their first game today for 4 weeks.

Monaghan finding scores easier to come by because they are up against a weaker defence. The goal a moment of individual brilliant is keeping Kildare in this game just 3 points from play shows they are struggling to break down a blanket and that is nothing new for Kildare.

It does but  the hope is gone.
I will never see Ros in an All Ireland Senior final.
The "little" Counties can't compete any more.
Quicker the second tier comes in so that we might win a game at Croker the better.
Playing div 2 football winning games against weaker teams was no use to Roscommon playing in a second tier would be the same. I don't know how many times Roscommon have to ship huge scores in games before McStay and his management scrap this dreamland offensive football and start bringing in some sort of system and structure to their defence.

Well done to Tyrone a well drilled side who had the game won by half time. They beat Armagh by the same margin last year so the key for them now is to be more competitive v Dublin and if Donegal can get within 5 points of them today without their best forward then Tyrone in theory should really put it up to Dublin in Omagh.

Great achievement for the young lads especially as they lost all the dual players on the panel a few months ago to the hurlers. I was wondering when I saw lads from Tuam, Annaghdown, Ballygar and Salthill on the Galway minor hurling team that played Limerick last weekend. All traditional football areas not known for their hurling.

QuoteGalway minor football manager Donal Ó Fatharta was interviewed on Raidió Na Gaeltachta by Cárthach Breathnach in the aftermath of his side's comprehensive victory over Roscommon in their Connacht Championship first round clash on Friday evening.

Ó Fatharta, a member the An Spideal hurling and football club, hit out at minor hurling manager Jeffrey Lynskey for preventing a number of his panellists from playing football as well as hurling in maroon.

"They (a group of players) were with us in January but there was a decision made that I didn't agree with and I fought as much as I could, but I wasn't listened to at all," began Ó Fátharta.

It is claimed that Lynskey has disallowed ten of his panel members from playing football.

"It was the manager of the hurling panel, Jeffrey Lynskey who made the decision. It wouldn't be right that I would have that power, and in my opinion, it's not right that anybody would have that power," he continued.

"This first happened in February, we're without, around ten of them who would probably be on the panel.

"But we drew a line in the sand in February and from then on we said that's the panel we have for the year now.

"The power should be with the county board for something like that, but that's the way it is and we're going to work away with what we have...It will be in front of the board and the clubs in the future."

Can you name some of those dual players were they possible starters or subs? Not sure would I call it that great of achievement when you consider Galway city west and north teams won the Ted Webb cup and shield last year.

Galway well worth their win and we're more than 4 points better than us. A penalty 4 minutes into added time made the scoreboard more respectable.

43 mins played 1-7 to 1-10 it looked like a possible comeback was on the cards but i suppose the damage was done 1st half.

I'm sure the young rossies will be out to prove that round 1 game was nothing but a freak result. Galway has scored 11-65 on route to this final while Roscommon have scored 13-53 which would suggest this will be a high scoring game.

I see they are trying to sanitise the u20 championship by playing the final at headquarters, they have made some haymes  of this competition, most counties had to field weakened teams because they had lads doing exams, after years of commitment to development panels what would be a last chance to represent their county for a lot of lads goes up in smoke, I would particularly mention our own Connacht council in this regard, brainless whatevers.

Agree with all that and i would be hopefully the 2019 U20 championship will be much improved as the powers to be learn from all the errors they made. Playing the semi final and final during the super 8s is more nonsense scheduling and as Dinny said supporters are expected to be in Fitzgerald Stadium Saturday evening then Croke Park Sunday for a 1pm throw in.

That will do as i had that game down as 2-1 Croatia win. England's biggest problem was a lack of quality manager. None of the top 6 teams in the Premier league would have Gareth Southgate as manager.

90 mins bet surely ??
No bet on tonight i wish i did. Predicted 2-1 on the prono contest and extra time included in prediction.

Terrible defending there by England. A deserved lead.
