Will admit that Liverpool side did unbelievably well to get near that financially and I've a feeling physically doped team. Bit like that Mayo team running into the Dubs but at least Liverpool got their title!Quote from: Captain Obvious on April 20, 2024, 12:30:44 AMQuote from: RedHand88 on April 19, 2024, 07:42:08 PMIt is a shame that he came up against 115 charges FC in his tenure which made winning the league nigh on impossible and who knows, if they do throw the book at city in years to come, what he achieved may be more appreciated. In season 2021/22 it wasn't that as a win against Tottenham at home instead of a draw with three games to play would have won the league title for Liverpool.
You seem fairly simple minded but that season Liverpool lost two games and had 92 points, it still wasn't enough. That tells you all you need to know
Does that mean Man Utd and Liverpool would need to bring back their players from those years and be presented with the PL trophy?
Sure what consolation would that be anyway? Let's go to Old Trafford to see the 2012 team lift the PL trophy? Would Stevie G's slip and Aguerooooo be erased from history?
Nah, if you're going to punish them , a Rangers-style demotion is the way to go , with a few years in the Vauxhall conference (or lower). That's the place for them.
I seriously doubt any Liverpool or United fans are looking for those types of meaningless, asterisked titles. Severe demotion penalty, as you say, is the way to go.
