Never mind the Hilton, I was in the Barleycove Beach Hotel in Barleycove, Co Cork last summer on Hols and was in one Saturday evening for a nosebag.  I think some hurling qualifier game was on and I asked for it to be turned on (as nothing was on the TV), a waitress returned to my table 10 mins after I made my request and told me that they couldn't put it on as they only show international sports such as motorsport and baseball!!!  I shit you not, near choked on me prawn sandwiches.  I was f**king fuming.
Are you serious? Do they have many Baseball fans in that part of Cork?

That's rite. Ive never seen Dubs fight among themselves!

The stewards on the Hill are little Hitlers to a man who dont give a feck an are mostly there to watch the game. God help us if anything ever goes bad.

They'll carry out the next hearing correctly and he'll still get 6 months. Maybe even more this time?

I heard this story of the wireless this morning and i have to say I've never wittnessed anything of the sort myself. This racist bullying of a 14 year old by adults is an awful disgrace to the country. The O'Hannrahan's club should provide the names of those responsible or face a long ban from all GAA activity.

If a ref was assualted they would be expected to name the individual responsible. They should be asked to do the same in this situation.

I always thought we were more civilized than English soccer fans but it appears we're not.

GAA Discussion / Re: Shocking Kerry indiscipline

Kerry lost it big time on Sunday and will have to regain their discipline if they are to progress in the back door. Its hard to get discipline and composier back when it goes an I'm not sure the current management team can do it. Well I hope they cant.

Has anyone else been following this trial? I new she was guilty from the start. All of her evidence and defence was weak. Basically saying it wasn't me must have been someone trying to frame me.

Sharon Collins guilty of murder conspiracy
Wednesday, 9 July 2008

A jury has convicted Sharon Collins of conspiracy to murder her partner and his two sons.

Collins, who had denied she was 'lyingeyes98', has also been convicted of soliciting an Egyptian poker dealer to murder her partner and his two sons.

The jury could not agree a verdict on conspiracy charges against Essam Eid.

AdvertisementCollins of Kildysart road, Ennis, Co Clare, and Eid from Las Vegas had denied three charges of conspiracy to murder.

Eid has been convicted of extortion and handling stolen goods after he demanded €100,000 from PJ Howards's son, Robert, to cancel the contract.

He was remanded in custody and a date for sentence will be set in October.

Collins was comforted by family members as the jury of eight men and four women found her guilty on the first charge.

The seven-week trial heard how she searched the Internet for a contract killer and paid a €15,000 deposit to have her partner and his sons murdered.

The jury found Eid guilty of demanding money with menace from Robert Howard and of handling stolen goods.

During the trial, the 45-year-old Ennis woman told the court she was not 'lyingeyes98' - the name of the email account used to hire a hitman.

Reacting to the verdict, PJ Howard and sons Robert and Niall say they are relieved the trial has come to a conclusion and are prepared to get on with their lives.

Has the Gaelic Ground ever been full since they redeveloped it? I don't think it has. Theres a chance it could be full for the first time this year if it gets the Munster final. Biggest white elephant ever IMO.

GAA Discussion / Ray Cosgrove retires.
May 14, 2008, 10:12:54 AM
Ray Cosgrove is retiring from the inter-county scene.

A great Dub but its probably the right decision at this stage. Some great memories of him in the sky blue. Who will ever forget his performances in 2002?
Hopefully he'll carry on a club level. Too many of the top players retire completely too young.

What's wrong with going to the cinema on your own?
I'd go on my own.

We all know that.

Every team needs to learn how to play as a team and sometimes it needs a game like this to do it. The Dubs learned a lesson today and it will do us the power of good later in the championship. Not pretty to watch but it will do the job in the long run.
