QuoteForgot who it was but young sub caught a pass from thr keeper more or less in front of goal.  Should have taken the mark but didn't

Aye, thought that myself but was the pass inside the 45? I think it would've put Derry 3 up.
Fairly sure the keeper was inside the 45 so a mark was not possible

Was that 45/20 thing not the original proposal?
Near impossible for the ref to have a good view of both lines when the kick and catch takes place. Asking for a lot of wrong calls. Time to remove the forward mark and a good few other rules that only add confusion 5o the game with little benefit

Can someone explained what happened with the Tyrone "indirect free"? That's what the BBC commentators called it but I can't remember it happening in GAA before.
When play is stopped for a serious injury, play is restarted with a free for the last team in possession but they can't score from the free. If no team was in possession it is a hop ball

The language they are using, the actions they are taking and depths they are going to hang onto power are comparable to an extent. Doesn't mean they are like them but the direction of travel is very concerning. https://twitter.com/terrychristian/status/1634210508151685121?t=aiwSWetzv51EqZ4ImyKU3g&s=19

Lol fs so now mandatory voter ID is considered Nazi!  ::) Ah here, I'm away to bed.
It isn't, but making it easier for demographics who are more prone to be Tory voters to get photo ID would be. For example a senior citizen bus pass is valid but a student one is not valid.

Has anyone ever clarified how Britain 2023 is like Nazism 1930s? What exactly is it that's being compared? Willing to be educated on this with an open mind.
Well, Lieneker being cancelled by the state controlled media for disagreeing with the government is abit on the Nazi side.

People publicly disagree with the government every day. Nobody cares. That's not really what the issue is though is it. Its the fact he compared Britain now to the Nazis. It was a very silly historically ignorant thing to come out with and anyone who thinks it's accurate needs a serious boot in the hole. Hope he gets rehired though. I enjoy his punditry.
He didn't compare Britain to the Nazi's. He said the language being used was like that of Germany in the 30s. Big difference to what you are implying

Lineker was acting a snowflake in the first place. A country stating that those caught illegally entering will never get citizenship is fair enough. Hardly from the Hitler handbook.

He didn't critise the governmeny policy and certainly not what you state. Its the blatant lies and propaganda justifying the policies he compared.

Summed up on question time last night, to distract from the facts the Tory's fucked everyone and everything, this is the bogeyman to try and win the next election on.
He called it a cruel policy, which it is.
His comparison was with the language used by the tories. Read his tweet folks. He should have went further and said their actions as well. This suspension is a good example of those who dare to air any criticism of the corrupt evil Tory government are shut down by any means possible.

I presume when it hits the top of the post it is out of play. Even it bounce back onto the field or between the post. Only my thoughts.

Sean O Sheas goal, about 8 steps, but Conor Meyler takes the biscuit from 1.22 , about 12 or 13

Meyler seemed to take about 8 steps in that bit no? He lays it off to Harte who hits the top of the post. The scoreboard rolls over to 2 points. Then the ref overruled the umpires and the score is disallowed. Has there been any clarification on why that was disallowed?
Ball must go between the post, hitting the top is same as when ball goes over the post, a wide.

Write a GAA match report between clubs from Tyrone and Kerry for a game that had everything including melee and red cards

It's reply

The GAA match between Tyrone's St. Patrick's and Kerry's Killarney Shamrocks was a heated affair that had everything from spectacular goals to a melee that resulted in multiple red cards.

The match started off at a fast pace, with both teams determined to take an early lead. St. Patrick's got off to a strong start, with midfielder Sean O'Malley scoring a stunning goal in the first minute of the game. Killarney Shamrocks quickly responded, with forward Conor O'Connor equalizing just minutes later.

The match continued to be a back-and-forth battle, with both teams trading goals and points. The tension on the field was palpable, and it eventually boiled over in the second half, when a melee broke out between several players from both teams. The referee quickly intervened, issuing red cards to four players and sending them off the field.

Despite the loss of several key players, St. Patrick's and Killarney Shamrocks continued to fight until the final whistle. In the end, it was St. Patrick's who came out on top, with a final score of 2-14 to 2-11.

The match was a thrilling and intense affair, with both teams leaving it all on the field. However, the melee and red cards marred what was otherwise a fantastic game of GAA. The teams will now look to move on from this incident and focus on their next matches.

It used to be when first introduced and before there was a forward mark. The past few years all marks are 15 seconds.

Yes there is an upper and lower. I think the old school in upper Balix was the highest in Ireland when open.

It is pronounced bale-icks

A few things that could be done to help prevent this are,
Limiting the number of people inside the wire.
Only those inside the wire are the starting players, limited number of subs eg. 5  one medic and 2 of the management team (they are not allowed inside unless they have they required vetting, safeguarding and coaching certs). All names on the team sheet. Only club officials who have underwent official GAA training for umpiring or linesman can do that role.
Meaning clubs would need to ensure everyone has the required training if the person is to be inside the wire.
Would stop the local lunatic being involved as they see themselves above training courses. Would also mean the club would need to put a lot people forward for the training to ensure someone can be inside the wire.
Strong sanctions on anyone entering the playing area if not one of the listed names on the team sheets.

By the looks of the video he was one of the teams management and should have been on the teamsheet.

The club gets put out of that competition unless they put the culprit up for sanctions due to his actions. I'd say every dog in the area know exactly who he is.

Looks like he is a mentor. What I am saying is you can only become a mentor once you are vetted and done the relevant coaching and safeguarding courses. The person here may be vetted and have the relevant courses, but something like this should strip you of all that and prevent him ever being a mentor again.

Do you know who has vetting and coaching qualifications in your club? It should be the minimum requirement to deter the local head cases having a negative impact on everyone they encounter. As far as I can see there is little to no barriers to prevent the wrong people being involved.
