Eoghan Rua --- v --- Glenullin
Playoff
5 30 PM at Owenbeg (Ref: Martin Mc Erlane)

Predictions on this?

Coleraine lost all league games, did they just accept this fate and expect themselves to win this game? or are they genuinely in trouble?

Can Glenullin surprise them?

Big win for Glenullin.
10pts down after 20 minutes, and won by 11pts.

What does that mean for championship next year? Is the link between league and championship back in? Or do you have to win intermediate to go back to senior?

Brendan

Get to the Intermediate championship semi finals and you're promoted to Senior championship, league form unrelated now

Eoghan Rua seem to be in a massive period of transition (not dissimilar to Glenullin's in more recent years). A lot of players nearing the end of their playing time - they might not be too disappointed with a few seasons of intermediate to get themselves rebuilt.

Rebuild with what though? Their underage teams have been playing tier 2 and 3 for quite a few years now. I dont see them in the U18 or U14 league tables this year?

Yep. That's exactly why I wouldn't see them any higher than intermediate anytime soon. Would defs need improvements in terms of nos of potential future senior players coming through to anticipate getting close to senior again.

They are in A2 of u14 but not going great and amalgamated with Doire Colmcille at minor strangely

Cheer Brendan. I saw a team called Doire Rua at Minor. Its a strange one alright.

Could be a chance there'll not be a senior team, hurling or football, in 10 years time.

Sean Mc Golderick done some work with that club. Unsung hero.

A proper legend.

Any truth to the rumours Gallagher being back in with Errigal gone and LCC in as new sponsor?

Hard not thinking we could have been where Armagh are now

A disaster for Derry if that happens but looking likely. Never heard of LCC. Obviously a crowd that are not that worried about their reputation if that comes about. Yeah if you look Armagh we can only think what might have been. They have Sam up the road with no underage success for years. A win based on spreading the net wide and getting a big panel of lads bought in to the whole thing. A good few of them not playing senior football in Armagh. Its all about who is leading it and the man to do that for Derry isn't going to be RG.

I would say the rumour is nonsense but you've never heard of LCC????

Among other things, they own the GO stations and have annual turnover and profits in the multi-multi-millions.

Seems to be a bit of truth behind it

Plenty of talk that contact was made with RG as far back as after the Donegal game, and that he was still in regular contact with players.
