Main Street

The RTE live broadcast of the game was superb, the  crowd noise  blended perfectly with the commentary from Darragh Maloney. The BBC commentary team was weak and crowd noise was dulled.

Dreadful team of the year.

Galway and Armagh didn't dominate the game. They don't deserve 12/15.

2 of the team just weren't at it all in the final. Another one left injured after 10.

Don't get the rationale on this one at all (or on their motm).

Barry McCambrdige the right call for poty though.

It means nothing - absolutely nothing. All Star is where it is at and even that is rubbish.

who would you have picked on the team of the year that was any different?  hard year to pick when there was no real stand out performers, Armaghs win was based more on team performance than individuals.

Finnerty was brilliant for Galway all year, going off injured shouldn't hamper him getting recognition in any team of the year, him going off cost Galway today.

You're absolutely right: a year with few standout performers.

So it's a difficult team to pick.

But the "sword I would die on" for this type of endeavour is that to make this team, you have to perform well at the furthest point your team progresses to. That is - in my mind at least - the mark of a great season; that you can keep doing it when the stakes raise.

It was a muddling championship. It was always going to be a muddling team of the year. But that's as good a reason as any to muddle from a wider pool of teams.

I'm sure our lads don't give a flying f**k. Pick 15 Tyrone men for all we care!
