What is going on the with the election? Biden odds are now 1.07 on Betfair and the same in Georgia. I understand that Georgia is having a recount, but they have already audited the ballots and I doubt if a recount will make much difference.  But something has moved the odds.

Seems more like a last ditch attempt to take more money off punters backing Trump.

There is a transition period but he is still in place until Biden's inauguration

The presumption here is gas. Nothing learned since 2016.

Gas you say? Why so? What presumption has Roesider made?
That Biden will have an inauguration. It might well happen but until it does it's a presumption.

If you're honest with yourself last time was a fluke. There will be no mistakes this time and Biden is poised for office.

Looks like most american cities are boarding up businesses in the event that Trump loses and his supporters go out and wreck everything.

It's very sad that this is what happens in a democracy.

Biden to win by a large margin of electoral college votes although the swing states will be tight.

Does the senate and congress change immediately after election or everything change on inauguration day?

If Trump loses can he pass bat shit crazy policies between Tuesday and and the 20th January?

There is a transition period but he is still in place until Biden's inauguration

I think they will need to monitor his communications after election day to ensure that he doesn't go nuclear and send off info to Putin and his pal in North Korea. The things he accused Obama of will be exactly his playbook to try cripple the Biden administration.

Wondered who you meant there, jibba.

Bobby Ball, aged 76 after contracting Covid.

I seen him recently on that Lee Mack sitcom 'Not Going Out' and thought that he had died a while back - it was Eddie Large (also with Covid). I always got them two mixed up.

Mixing up Bobby Ball with Eddie Large :D

Rock on Tommy!

I see Trump had a rally in Pittsburgh and have been exaggerating the crowd sizes as usual. Media trying to point to the fracking comments causing a surge in Trump voters. The dishonestly is going to continue up until tomorrow to try convince Biden voters it's not worth bothering turning up.
Add that to the voter intimidation going on all over the country - we are seeing bully tactics that were used in 2016.

Thankfully the Hunter Biden hoax has been contained and isn't going to be a factor. Fox news have been shameless recently and should be punished for their fake news.

I think people are putting too much store in early voting

There was always going to be a massive early vote this time because of the Covid situation

But whether it actually turns into a record turnout is very much open to question

It needs to be

The media have been doing what they love to do - paint any performance by Trump in which he doesn't come across as a total screaming lunatic - which he probably just about avoided doing last night - as "presidential" or some such nonsense

A lot of them are desperate for a close race

And I think they'll get it

Polls in Florida are razor tight and Arizona seems to be closing up too

If Florida falls for Trump it's likely that North Carolina will too - and I expect they will because the Republicans are expert at voter suppression in those states

That leaves the three mid-western states and there's no margin for error

I can't help but come back to hacking and vote falsification

It's going to decide it in Trump's favour

Not to mention the stolen supreme court seat for Coney Barrett. Democrats should have been putting a lot more pressure on Republican senators to rule her unfit for office, especially using the precedent of Garland.

Interesting debate. Trump managed to contain himself a lot better this time around. A lot less shouting and none of his usual one liners managed to go anywhere.

Biden put on a masterclass of how to behave in a presidential manner and was leaving Trump reeling with his jabs on tax, covid and immigration.

Trump definitely tried to use the fake news angle on bringing up Hunter Biden and saying Joe was corrupt in his financial dealings which is clearly not the case. If there was real evidence the american public would know by now. There is also some other sideshow with some guy called Tony Bobulinski saying he has text messages. With a name like that most likely more russian disinformation.

Good win for Biden - should put him out of sight in this race.

Per NY Times:

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2020/10/22/us/trump-biden-debate-tonight#russia-poses-a-bigger-election-threat-than-iran-many-us-officials-say

"Officials say Russia's ability to change vote tallies nationwide is limited."

So, Russia has the ability to change vote tallies

This should probably be much bigger news, as in the main story - not that it is new, but that it sort of, you know, leaves the election result open to being falsified

And why anybody thinks Russia would not falsify the result if they can beats me

It's been fairly evident since the Trump Tower meeting that Donald is relying heavily on Russia to keep him in power.
This is why mail-in ballots are a better solution than booths as these can be tampered with by Russian meddling. Sounds old-school but at least you get an accurate tally at the end of counting rather than an electronic number that may be false and helping Trump.

The new one from the Trump loons and their pals at Fox News is to make vague allegations of paedophilia and child porn possession against Hunter Biden and indeed Joe Biden

I think we've heard this one before

The greatest hits are being rolled out

Honestly wouldn't surprise me at all if the Republicans have been working for months on a deepfake child porn video against Hunter Biden

Nothing from Fox about the actual paedophilia case that was taken against Trump of course

Perhaps he and Epstein raped that 13 year old girl to save her from rape by somebody else - that's the QAnon logic anyway

They are lying about Hunter Biden being set up in a sting in China and that he is now being extorted to prevent that footage getting out.

I don't know how much lower the media can go when they are reporting this as the truth. It has Bannon written all over it.
The Biden camp are right not to answer any questions. There is no need to prove the media wrong as it only fuels them.
the media lying? Where have you been for the last 4 years .

It's mainly gutter press like the NY Post that will print this sort of dispicable article.

It's pretty obvious that the Trump team is losing and they'll use any tactic to stay in the running. Adam Schiff has already called out Trumps director of intelligence John Ratcliffe as a liar. Ratcliffe is insisting the Biden laptop story was real but Schiff has sources from the actual intelligence community who have confirmed that this is all a Russian disinformation campaign.

I see it is alleged that disgraced former Trump strategist Steve Bannon has been behind the latest Joe/Hunter Biden hoax and has been sitting on this laptop story for over a year. How coincidental that he got his hands on the device and passed it onto Rudy. Bannon wants to control the country.

Luckily the media decided not to cover the story as it's fake beyond belief. Nobody could be that dumb to have emails and photos like the ones mentioned and the public won't buy it.

Biden is correct to ignore these fake rumours about him and Hunter which were launched by Guiliani purposely at this time. He's been sitting on this story to launch at the last minute to try affect the Biden voters and independents without one grain of truth to the story. It's also serving as a distraction to take the heat off Coney Barrett.

Didn't need twitter and facebook getting involved to prevent the spread of fake news, should have let this one die out itself and guarantee a Biden victory.

Only saw some parts of the vice-president debates but from the articles read it looks like Pense was lying through his teeth avoiding questions while Harris did a good job of covering all topics that he threw her way. A fair description?
