Would not be a fan of excessive heat however from what I can see peak season and therefore dearer prices start from 20th July onwards.  Will definitely get greater value if we go in early / mid July.

Any recommendations for Spain / France / Italy?
Camp site holiday in South East France is by far the best for families with children, everything you need on the sites. Not self catering but if you are any good on the bbq you will be flying

Gents, looking to take the wife away for few days around Easter for her 40th.

Any recommendations for "different" cities to visit? We've done the

Eg Dubai, Valetta, Prague, Lisbon, anyone good for pizza & wine in Italy etc?

We have done? The cities listed or have you not done these?
How many days 4? 5?
Almost anywhere in Italy has potential, IMHO.

For food/wine Bologna is brilliant. Supposedly gastronomical capital and while smallish city 2 or 3 days there is briliant. From memory airport into city was short taxi ride a couple of miles. Added bonus of direct train to florence through some amazing countryside, great for a day trip.

Thinking of Dubrovnik over Easter, with two small ones (1 and 2). Anyone gone with kids and can recommend a hotel (or general area) that might be suitable for kids? We really need a heated pool, so thinking hotel rather than AirBNB.

100% agree, unnecessary stress on parents & kids, plus a waste of time, effort and money.

OK if you have someone to look after them.  Not always an option

You'd need to pay for a holiday for that person for the following 2 weeks.

Coming home was the best as I could rest in work!
