Skied in Arinsal a while ago, and it was my first trip - knowing what I know now, I wouldn't bother going back.  Pas seems to have more of a party vibe than Arinsal.

Try snowheads.com for reviews - ski chat board full of British skiers (few Irish for good measure)

Any views on Lanzarote for a week at the end of January?

Best area, accommodation....medium budget.

anyone hear anything about Irish ferries? I notice on their website you can only book Holyhead Dublin up as far as the end of January which is very unusual.

Stay in Puerto Del Carmen - it's a nice tidy resort. Playa Blanca has a built yesterday for the tourists feel to it.

I've been to Costa Teguise and Puerto Del Carmen, a lot more going on in Puerto Del Carmen.

So we hired a car in France in the Summer.  Got a lovely letter yesterday from Goldcar to say we had incurred a penalty somewhere and would be receiving a fine in a couple of weeks.  Due to the fact that goldcar supplied our details to the authorities they charged us a €50 admin fee which automatically came out of my account.  How nice of them.  With my limited French I think it was for doing 56kmph in a 50kmph zone.  I await the fine.  Anyone any similar experiences of this?

Got a speeding fine myself from France about four or five years ago. One letter just in French, I ignored it, haven't heard anything since.

Lol, half thinking that myself.  More annoyed about goldcar charging that for looking up my name on a computer.  Feckers

If they charged your credit card rather than your debit card you can query it / don't recognise the payment. f**k them. Burning bridges tho!

I got a fine in France too, just paid it. Don't want any sort of black mark as I'm there often. They are def strict, and lots of cameras everywhere.

I also scratched a car one time in France. Europcar billed me after about 900 euros. I didn't pay because I said they were ripping me off.
Thena few months later I felt a bit guilty rang them said look do you want to take this payment but the girl said this is Europcar UK you need to ring Europcar France. Ah f**k that I said I tried my best.
Of course it means I can't book Europcar anymore but plenty of other options available, I have just had to be careful since then the other ones I have went to book were not a subsidy of Europcar. Have had maybe five or six hire cars since with other companies no bother.

I received two separate speeding fines from France during the summer as well. Pretty sure nothing would come of it if you didn't pay.
I was mulling over what to do - but decided to pay in the end.

Hi Galwayman, out of interest, how much was the fine as I haven't received it yet?

Any good websites for booking 2-3 night breaks in Europe. Open to inspiration so not tied to a location. Can't be bothered trying to arrange all separately. City or beach.

Skyscanner allows you to just pick departure airport & date & leave destination as anywhere
e.g. Belfast to Lisbon – 10th-13th May £131 each
