But has lived in Roscommon for many years ;D
It has to be quite challenging to live life with saying Roscommon in every sentence...a day in the life

"How's the form ? Ah not too bad, grand morning now Roscommon but afternoon isn't promised great"

"50 Diesel on pump 8 Roscommon, Thanks"

"Lamb chops Roscommon for dinner is it?"

Nice to see some of the old legends being remembered and honoured  ;)
Ya, always good to see the name. I'm sure he'd happy if the torch is passed...badly overdue !

Apologies if covered already ...any reason for the game being on Saturday at half 5 instead of Sunday?

I think it starts at 5 pm on Saturday, wouldn't want you to miss the first few Dublin goals !
I'd be just in time for the gallant fight back against the AIG blue Dubs franchise

I don't think Dublin GAA are able stop the wave now, that's down to desire primarily in my opinion. We all want to win, we're a competitive species ...we enjoy winning, produces dopamine and gives us that good feeling. I know Cluxtons face didn't display it the last day but I'd guess he was happy out inside. They are addicted to winning now that's a big problem allied to all the other issues.

I'm no Dub but I'm sure there wasn't this much of a meltdown when Kerry cleaned up back in the day.
As a few lads have already mentioned, they have 15 players like every other team. It's up for the others to raise their game.
It's not professional football where they can buy the best players, they just have them at the minute. Their dominance won't last forever just like Kerry's didn't.
I'm not arsed whether they lose or not any time soon. They are an absolute juggernaut of a team that play attractive attacking football that is good to watch, the way the game should be played, against dire defensive shyte this weather.
Whether or not their dominance is good for the championship i'm not getting into, but thank god for the dubs for the way they play and entertain.
I'd expect a good few to crawl off the Donegal bandwagon after that.

Will RTE focus on that bit of outright cynicism from Mayo....hmm.....
nice boys win nothing.

Absolutley....however Sean Cavanagh endured a terrible time over his drag down, when prevening a goal...manhood questioned, analysed to death on RTE etc, tons of media coverage

Just wondering if Mayo will get the same treatment...or if it's all ok as it's not a Tyrone player
Sean Cavanagh got the full nine years because of Joe Brolly's emotional reaction- nothing more or less. IIRC, no intercounty player came out to say he was critical of what SC had done.
IMO, that's perfectly understandable.
Players in Cavanagh'as or McLoughlin's position will react instinctively if they see the game slipping away from them. Unlike spectators they can't sit back on their arses and worry about what armchair warriors are thinking.

Yeah, they'll all do it, no matter which county it is, but is that the way it should be?

If someone is clean through and gets taken out, it should be a penalty in addition to a straight red (and all the extras that brings). The punishment should fit the crime instead of the current cop out. This "taking one for the team" bullshit might end.
Surely not a penalty if the offence is outside the box though ?
Happy enough to see McLaughlin scythe Kelly down personally , I remember Meehan scoring a goal into that end in Connacht 2009 final to level things up and had 2 of our lads had chance to take him down and went the honourable route instead .

What was Comer like pre covid Galway lads ? That ankle injury really messed up 2019 for him . Miles off the pace yesterday as expected , 3 weeks post significant hamstring injury.

Mayo have reached all ireland semi final every year James Horan in charge. 3 week break now, ideal after 5 games in a row in terms of physical prep , hope it's Cork personally ...Cian O Neil is owed one 8)

Very enjoyable Sunday punching down the noisy neighbours. Thought the aggression was at the required level. Shot conversion rate will have to improve. Paddy Durcan is a machine

Long time no posting folks, but just at a loose end these days, wondering how others are finding lockdown / partial lockdown these days regarding running?

Motivation is up and down with me these days - my big aim (and has been for a while) is to run a half marathon under 1hr 50 and I completed the virtual GNR in under 1hr 51 a few weeks back.

Any tips for how to get going again? Would love an event of some sort but just feeling a bit flat.
Great running, you'll hit your target soon. Pick a route and a day with decent weather and you'll take 1.50.

You'd definitely miss races, extra bit of bite and intensity when you've a number pinned to you alright . Times and races are great but just getting out the door and training is a good buzz too, I remind myself  how much I'd miss it if couldn't do it and thankful that I can.

I said in March when lockdown started I'd try for a PB in 5k on a track in July , so put the head down for a few months and worked for that. Did a a solo time trial.

Did 50 consecutive days in a row training just finishing last Sunday. Longest streak I've ever did , glad to break it Monday though ..it was becoming a bit of a dose having to squeeze runs in on busy days.

Pick a personal goal or something you haven't done before and that'll keep motivation ticking over.

Races were getting out of hand, 10 a penny last few year. Might be a good thing in the long term , quality over quantity.

Knockout will never return. Too much money involved.
