Is this the Ken Burns series?

If so, its superb, as have all the documentary series made by the Burns brothers.

That's the one....top class.

The series is brilliant but PBS have absolutely massacred it in the editing. They've only included about half the original series with each episode about an hour long compared to at least two originally and they've managed to leave out some pretty important stuff

Its currently available on Netflix on their online service. No idea if they've edited it. Surprised at PBS though as they're usually excellent.

We'll get back to the rest of it later, but if there is a Creator, then what created the creator? And what created that creator. And so on and on. If you posit (using only the incredulity argument, mind you) that a supposedly intelligent cosmos requires a creator by necessity, then surely the creator of such a cosmos would similarly require an even more amazing creator. Where does it end?

Time of day doesn't matter. Its what and how much you eat.

Yes, to lose weight, calories consumed has to be less than calories used. Its much, much, easier to shift that ratio by reducing calorie intake.

Some united fans on here are an embarrassment to their club, never mind Liverpool FC. The truth of the matter is Man united are going to have two more league titles than Liverpool..............swings and roundabouts and all that, liverpool will be back and they will win the premiership, United will lose Fergie, their most important player over the last two and a half decades, Liverpool will bounce back, so enjoy the journey united fans, there are leaner days ahead!
Bit delusional there Stew.Swings and roundabouts? All I see is 1 big slide, Liverpools from the top.

Utd will slip back when Fergie goes as he is irreplacable but Liverpool are a million miles off winning the league in the next 3 years. Liverpools 2 most influential players over the last 10 years are also in their twilight years don't forget.

Having said this I still fear they will somehow get the better of Everton at the weekend.

Where did he say next three years?
He didn't. I'm just pointing out how far off Liverpool winning the league is at the minute.I could say Everton will win the Premiership, without a time scale how can I be proved wrong?

Liverpool have a far stronger base than the likes of Everton from which to build a title-winning squad. This season's turned out to be awful, but prior to the last six weeks, they'd been playing good stuff and just lacked a goalscorer. Personally I think the Suarez debacle and the chronic poor goal return have come to a head in their recent collapse. I don't see it, necessarily, as a sign of fatal long-term decline. I think Dalglish should probably go, as he has handled the Suarez affair appallingly and it seems to have taken its toll in his running of the club, but I don't see a giant rebuilding job to get Liverpool back into the champsions league (which is obviously the first step to a title challenge). Look at Newcastle FFS. Or Spurs. Its only two months since everyone was screaming for Wenger to stand down. Mancini is in the hot seat now. And look back over the United thread to see the ridiculous overreactions of some of the dominant posters to various setbacks and successes for United this season. Football fans (fans of all sports actually) are so knee-jerk and short-sighted in their reactions that, were Liverpool to beat Everton next week and win three or four games after that, everyone would be calling for Dalglish to be given another shot.

I lost 3 stone in six months three years ago, then shed another stone the following year. No big mystery to it. Just stopped eating shite (I've a very sweet tooth!) and resumed exercise, mostly walking, with some running. I also took up indoor rock-climbing and bouldering, which is an excellent workout.
My problems also started when the football ended and my awful diet started to take its toll. It was lucky I did lose it too... a potentially serious health problem showed up after the weight was off that would have been much harder to deal with had I still been heavy.

Everything unfolded naturally without the interference of a magical, supernatural being. We humans are here because our species evolved from other species. Basically, you don't need supernaturalism to explain nature and existence.

Great second half by our boys by all accounts (close one at the end though!). Can't complain about scoring 8 of the last 9 points! And nice to finally get a decent win against Armagh when it matters!

There is something about beating Donegal which is always very satisfying. You just couldn't beat them hard enough and often enough. However, Donegal without Murphy is a severe handicap. I hope McBrearty plays because he really looks like another exceptional talent - another tough test lies ahead for Donaghy.

Enjoy Division 2!

I think we've made considerable progress, regardless of what happens on Sunday. This side are nothing special, talent-wise, comapred to other Donegal side over the past ten years. Just a lot more focus, belief, fitness and organization. And in the past, 2003 AI semi aside, we've played an open, traditional game against Armagh and got hammered physically. Just not sure we'll make much headway against Armagh without Murphy, especially if the other two boys are not firing on all cylinders or even not playing. Now part of my pessimism is just fatalism after years of frustration and humiliation, but its also down to missing our lynchpin player. He's not someone we can replace. Hopefully the boys will step up though and the heads won't drop if Armagh get on top. They've had plenty of good comebacks over the past year.

Apparently McBrearty is flying back from London and the AFL trials on Sunday morning, while McFadden is not a certainty to start either. We could be very, very light on options up front, with Murphy already gone. Not what we need for a game against Armagh of all counties. Decent efforts in 2002 and 2006, and to a lesser extent, 2007, aside, we've just thrown in the towel against them too many times over the past 10 years. Don't care too much if we're relegated, but another tanking from Armagh would be hard to take.

Have any Liverpool fans ever actually agreed that Carroll was worth 35 million?

Are the people who bought him not fans?

I've no idea if Henry and Werner were "fans" before the idea of buying into a football team was first broached in their boardroom. Dalglish is obviously a fan in that he wants to see the club succeed ahead of all others.

What has either got to do with the ordinary people not employed by or in ownership of the club who constitute the masses of fans I'm obviously talking about?

I just find football supporters' logic amusing sometimes.

You asked the question: "Have any Liverpool fans ever actually agreed that Carroll was worth 35 million?" almost as if the very suggestion of Liverpool fans thinking of Carroll as being worth €35m besmirches the reputation of Liverpool fans.

Absolutely I think that any fan who thought he was worth 35 million, regardless of his performance since then, doesn't know much about football.

I think Downing was a bigger waste of money though!
