GAA Discussion / Re: Armagh next steps

Do Armagh folk feel that Kieran Donaghy's input has added anything?  Or not?

For me, its been Donaghy who has been the brains behind any of the attacking improvement there has been since he arrived.
This year however, with all the over-defensive style, mgmt obviously were spotting weaknesses whether it be due to squad depth, injuries I don't know...but Donaghy is the last person I would be faulting or want to see go. Put it like this, he leaves and then we are no longer even considering ourselves a top 8 county for the foreseeable.

Ranking tragedies. An all time high for this board.

you are being a bit harsh here on the board are you not ? every form of media, social media where there is discussion currently going on about this tragedy is including the very same topic of how there is ranking, thats modern society and is just fact, sad and all as it is

I will add - that Derry are the ones sort of being made to look bad at the minute but I don't think thats right. At the time of these terrible events, Gallagher had a circle of men no doubt (footballing men), between whatever clubs and county he was with for that period. I have no doubt, as word does travel (and if that woman and her family were making any attempts to let ones know what was happening), that quite a few knew and its that clique and RG that need to pay some form of compensation to this poor woman for everything that she has been put through. they have all lied and tried to ignore it like it was nothing and once they knew they were proceeding as normal so as to do for their club and county as normal then they are all in same boat in my eye. they all should be taken to account and thats where the GAA need to explore further and be seen to act !!

He'll have to explain himself to mothers in Carrickmacross  and Loughmacrory as well.
Some stories  break out of sport and become generally known.
He won't be doing any coaching anywhere.

Like all bad news stories, this wont be getting talked about in a week and I would put a pound on that if not in the coming weeks then months, clubs around this country will be looking at new managers for 2024 and he will be getting approached or working for some club somewhere I'd say soon enough (whether that right or wrong is up for serious debate)

I think the worst thing, apart from his abuse of this woman is how it all seems to have just got brushed under the carpet until now. If it had been made public away back at the time, took his sentence/penance whatever, then he could have moved on somewhat slowly in terms of family, career etc but now it is all coming back to haunt him and his kids are that bit older and wiser so he has big problems there now too.  So at some point when he was beating this poor woman he decided that he would try to hide all this and continue working away nicely and successfully but now has been outed by the person he abused which is entirely the right thing.

So in no way condoning what he has done, but for the sake of them all they will need to move on, the GAA needs to improve a lot on how this could have happened as its likely county boards knew about it all along too, but any man deserves their second chance and he will be working again in county football I imagine down the line somewhere, but going back in quietly somewhere I think via a few clubs

My cinema hd app doesn't seem to be pulling in watchable streams of ep 3 and 4 of Succession which is highly annoying, anyone any alternative suggestions as to how I can catch up and see these latest episodes?

Where would I find the first 2 seasons of Succession? Season 3 is being repeated on Sky Atlantic in the next few days so I have that set to record but looking for the first two seasons.
Can't seem to locate them on Netflix or Prime video.
Cheers

I don't have a fancy machine but I love the coffee I get from using the aeropress. Get my coffee online from bailies coffee roasters.

The aeropress is a great job. Easy cleaned and portable enough.

just the man....i am partial to the odd cappucino and never touched coffee until  a few years back, but now as one two above, am spending serious bucks monthly, so i either neither to cut right back or come up with cheaper alternative

is it possible, using the aeropress along with likes of a milk frother to produce anything decent in the way of flat white, latte , cappucino ??

dont think flat whites have been mentioned yet there, so just thought i would throw it into the mix lol

So the cause of wildfire spreading has to be something (or a group of things) that's common to us all.

For me, the one thing that seems to connect us  is that everyone sent their kids back to school between the end of August and the middle of September. Then, 2 or 3 weeks later, cases rose.

i feel we need to think back just to the 3-4 week period preceding the schools return. I don't think we can blame the kids (not saying that you are btw), but I think the drinking throughout pubs, alternatively the drinking in the home with parties and lots of mixing, people returning from various holidays home and abroad, university students in various locations returning and then mixing with families incl younger siblings are reasons why they started to then see the smaller kids picking it up and going into schools with it then.

just my opinion.

and like everything the kids will be the ones to feel the biggest effect of this, even tho they may haveno symptoms, but i think its safe to say that all kids are now getting a 3rd rate education here all because of idiots out there who either dont care about their own kids futures, and/or dont care about those close around them only so that they can get a drink! that first n foremost, plus the other small percentage of idiots out there doing nothing to protect themselves or others, people are getting fed up with it and dont take their necessary measures, you see it everywhere

Alaphilippe has had a few tough days there but Jesus he's made some improvement this past year and beating GC climbers with ease at times  :P
Still and all I've enjoyed watching this tour.

Haven't been on the bike much myself this past year. Only about 100mile in total this summer and every time I get on the bike I'm scared of getting killed! The roads are a disaster and people have less patience than ever. Anyone finding the same?

Nearly got cleaned a few times. What amazes me is quite often i dont think the driver even realises the danger they've caused. I always thought that this anti collision software that will engage automatically in vehicles to avoid accidents is bollix, but given the number of near misses that almost every cyclist ive talked to have experienced it can be no bad thing.

I have started to go out later in the evening around 8 or so as things not as busy on the roads. Also ive always done a little bit of mountain biking which us a great escape from traffic.
Funny on the flip side of things quite a lot of aggro between walkers and mountain bikers. With walkers complaining of the speed and dangerous manoeuvres  of some cyclists!

Very similar to yourselves. On two separate occassions in the space of a week I had two scares. First as I approached a roundabout, lorry came swizzing by me at less than arms reach and then on another, a lorry was approaching in opposite direction but didnt some p***k in a van coming behind me think he would go on thru between me and the lorry, scared life out of me.

I am one of these ones sometimes I dont know what i am doing from one day to the next, family etc, work so I cant cycle regulary in any group. Thing is i love it and continue to go out. But also apart from those ignoramuses who think its a bit of craic to scare a cyclist half to death intentionally there will then be many drivers out who just pay absolutely no attention to the orad, i see it every day while I am out on the roads myself....I am kind of at the point, I know the risk I am taking putting myself in danger and its only a matter of time before I get clipped but I do love a good long 30 mile trek in country roads and I need it to keep some level of fitness up.

I now have a mountain bike also and find it a lot better fun and far safer (a lot less road use, more footpath with kids, parks, bike trails use etc)
