Captain Scarlet

As someone who grew up a United fan, I am so jealous of Liverpool with Klopp. He really has a crew of men around him and the lads all seem to genuinely get on.
I hate so many of the United players - Antony for one just drives me mad with his flash gear and general shiteness.

Klopp has a great philosophy and can see a goo player, but he also seems to have a great eye for signing good people by and large.

Delighted for Kelleher and I do see him moving on. It just goes to show how a run of games is so important.
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Brilliant levels of resilience and drive to pull out a win, with a patched up side and packed with youngsters.  Endo, Kelleher, VVD, and Diaz all stood up when needed.  Brilliant stuff.  Chelsea as a club is the polar opposite of Liverpool.

That's just, like your opinion man.

I feel a bit sorry for Poch. He's been handed an extremely expensively, but haphazardly, assembled squad of overpriced players, many still young. It is going to take time to mould a decent team out of it, but he's probably not going to get it.

That said, the way they sat back in extra time and handed the initiative back to a team they had on the ropes at the end of normal time was ridiculous. Liverpool finished with a 18 year old striker who after the game still had not accumulated a full half of senior football, and two other kids who haven't ten full games between them. And that's leaving aside Bradley and Quansah.

What to say about Kelleher? Greatest achievement of any Irish sportsperson this weekend, hands down.

Who or what else was in contention for this prestigious honour?

Well, I would give it to Adam Idah
Con all day long 😁

Great that Kelleher has stepped up. That's 4 games in a row where he's played well and made big saves. Arguably could have done better for the Luton goal where the ball went through him, but it was hit with quickly with a lot of pace, but main thing was it didn't impact him one iota. I expect he'll get a decent move in the summer

From brief investigations he is on €10k a week - until 25/26 . Adrian is on €60K - until 23/24.
The last month shows he needs a run of games to maintain a standard and raise his standard.
He is now 25 coming into the prime of his profession.

Keepers have a longer duration in the game, so if he keeps improving he's another 10 years plus in the professional game.

How does the poor lad survive on €10k a week?

These lads are all young and shooting the breeze. The weight of expectation is minimal. Nobody expects. These expectations change as a player matures. It's still a huge journey for them.

Rode our luck - Kelleher kept us in it. Controlled the game in the 2nd half, helped by a goal against the run of play in the first half. Gapko, I though struggled, bar a decent run and shot near the end.
Konate for (a tired) Virgil made us solid.

About an hour of senior football and he has a league cup medal and two goals in front of the Kop! Nice finish for the first and good awareness of the line.

I don't like to praise the Scouse if possible.

But the past few weeks of just getting on with things has been genuinely admirable.

Scouse c***ts.

Forest been shipping alot of goals since Nuno took over which is surprising, but expect a tough game given that lost there last year and due to the number of players unavailable.  Hopefully get a few bodies back, certainly take a not playing well and grinding out a 1-0 at this stage with hope of having Nunez, Salah, Szobo back for the following week.

Is Allison out of the City game confirmed?  Kelleher has done himself no harm over past few weeks, if you had of told me a month ago that Ali would miss that game I would have struggled to see Liverpool get any type of result but he has really stood up.

Is the young lad Ben Doak injured? At the start of the season a lot of Liverpool supporters had high hopes for him. You'd have thought with all the injuries and young lads being involved he'd have been featuring given the hype at the start of the season.

*Sorry quick google says he had a bad knee injury and needed surgery.*

Armamike

Remarkable levels of resilience and focus in the club right now.  It's been there since the start of the season.  Reminds me a bit of the Monty Python sketch, and the two knights swordfighting!  No matter what's been thrown at them they say fcuk it and carry on. Footballers and teams sometimes find excuses and take the easy way out.  This lot seem to be on a mission. Mightn't mean they'll win anything more this season but it won't be due to lack of effort and guile.

It's all very uplifting, but let's face it, Liverpool need some of those injuries to clear up pretty sharpish. They've got a tough schedule coming up, starting with Forest away. You can't be expecting young teenagers to be carrying the team against a Premier league team fighting for it's life, never mind City next weekend (don't really give a f**k about Prague - he can play 11 kids then for all I care!).

So hopefully at least Salah, Nunez and Szobozlai make it back in the coming days.
