after reading about the sad death of a referee during a SHC match in Derry last night. deepest condolences to his family.

just shows how things could have worked out last week without the quick response of the medical personel. hope gabriel is continuing on the road to recovery.

There goes automatic home draws against Kerry , Cork and the Dubs in the league next year  :(
what a load of crap this new NFL revamp is. instead of home games against the dubs, kerry and cork we could be playing monaghan, louth, derry or galway. bascially all the teams from div1 and 2 will be put in hat and drew out at random to make 2 leagues called 1A and 1B. what was the point trying to avoid relegation this year?

spurs v everton has been postponed because of the london riots. disappointing, was looking forward to the start of the season but at least we'll now stay undefeated into the 2nd week.

reports on sky sports news that everton have made enquiries about signing joey barton on a free transfer. while theres no doubt hes a good footballer, ( maybe not as good as he thinks he is ) do we need the baggage that goes with him?

any everton fans wanting to see how we are shaping up for the new season will be pleased to see our pre season friendly with villareal will be live on itv4 on friday night hopefully without collina reffing this time

Jez, Marty Morrisey should have worn a white jersey! His commentry was all about Kildare (not Kildares fault). Kildare have been the love child of RTE for the last 2 years. had to watch extra time with the volume down.

delighted for donegal. fair play to them, they kept going when they looked dead and buried.

totally agree about tally. the down lads dont seem to be as fit as they should be at this level. down faded badly in the 2nd half of alot of games this year most notably against armagh, clare and cork and also in alot of the league games.

james mc cartan has taken down forward alot in the last 2 years but lessons from yesterday have to be learned if we are to move forward again.

benny coulter has been downs best player for a decade and that above statement should be retracted. says alot about the poster concerned.

as for last nights game, i dont believe i ever came away from a match more disappointed (last years AI maybe excluded) we didnt seem to learn any lessons from last year. the way cork ran through the centre of our defence with ease was embaressing. not one single player was on top of his immediate opponent. cork seemed to have extra men all over the field and we just coulnt stem the tide coming towards our goal.

thought aiden brannigan had his best game for down last night rounding it of with a nice point. also good performances from big dan, gerard mc cartan, connor lavery and benny. great to see danny back and great to see so many down fans there cheering on the team.

Nothing to do with pigeon droppings but rather the inspectors from Sports Stadia H&S in the council closing both ends - not suitable to hold the capacity that there are seats for, so they had to reduce capacity.  No point throwing scarce money away on upgrades when a complete rebuild is on the way.
complete rebuild on the way and not before time. worst facilities at a county ground iv seen in a long time. that stand needs demolished as soon as possible
