I see the biased BBC is still well able to influence.I don't mind these guys not turning up in Armani gear or speaking with posh accents. As long as they are drawing out paedophiles they are doing good work in my opinion

Most practices have slots available for urgent appts on the day.Problem is everyone thinks they need an urgent appt. Then you have the bloated benefits sector adding further pressure, hypochondriacs, those whose day wouldn't be complete without seeing the Doctor, those needing medical examinations for HGV licences, people needing medical reports for Life Insurance, and on it goes.On top of seeing patients,Doctors have to write referrals, look at blood test results, examine and sign prescriptions and a multitude of other tasks.

The new concept is AskMyGP,already being operated. Effectively a Triage system it involves logging a call which is returned by the GP who decides if an appointment is needed later that day.Statistics show it works effectively in managing demand. Also you are going to have a lot of routine stuff and appointments passed off by GPs to Nurse Prescribers

Why did a BBC reporter turn up uninvited and unannounced at a private law abiding citizen's home? No wonder the guy was upset and lost it

The BBC reporter may have tirned up uninvited amd unannounced but that is not illegal by any stretch of the imagination. Nor was is against journalistic regulations. So given that he broke no rules or laws, then the abusive reaction by the group was utterly over the top and by and rational standards, broke several laws. Now given those facts, is it fair to assume you no longer support that particular group since you stated yourself that you would only support them 'so long as they acted within the law'?

In your own time there, Tony.

If a BBC reporter and camera crew turned up at your house out of the blue would you be happy, unless it's a stunt on Michael Mc Intyre's show

If the situation up here replicated the impoverished inferior public services in the Free State, where payment is required to see a GP,you'd have a hell of a lot less people making appointments.

There is a lot wrong with the NHS,not least the fact that all GPs are now part time.

Anyway you will see in the next few years the patient making appointments system being done away with completely. You will book a phone call with your GP and on the basis of that call, and with your medical record and history also on the computer screen in front of them, the GP will decide if and when you actually need an appointment. This is happening already and not before time.

Loyalist scumbags or not, credit where it's due. I will support anyone when they are doing the right thing or serving the community usefully.

I have no problem with people seeking treatment for existing ailments,it is those who have f..k all wrong with them pestering Health Services to be checked out etc.

As long as they are good jokes.Seriously hypochondriacs are exerting unnecessary pressure on the NHS.

Get checked if you have ailments, that's fine but dont pester them with checks if you are ok

By all means if you have an ailment get it checked but don't be running around looking checks when you're ok

I get this line of thought and would subscribe to it myself but sometimes you cant be too careful. My dad passed away from cancer a few years ago. What he thought was a toothache ended up being a tumour

They wonder why GPs are under so much pressure. Why are people so paranoid? When your time's up your time's up,nothing will stop this.

I was sitting beside the father of a famous ex Armagh player and the names and expletives he called every Armagh player all day was unbelievable. Then he said calmly to me at the end "It was great to get a win there!"😂😂

Would it not be respectful if he was doing a show,to first of all gain the consent of the person.I remember Mr O'Neill being interviewed on Spotlight not so long ago, with his identity hidden,in which he was calm, articulate and rational.Presumably this was due to the fact that he consented to this interview, and did not have his real identity and address revealed
