If it's not about the money then why are Dublin so far ahead?

At this stage there is no getting away from the fact that cash is king and the Kings of cash are the duds.

Something has to change.

If the Leinster final today was in portlaoise then we have a positive start.

It's also completely unbalanced when the Ross, Mayo, Galway, Donegal and all the rest of the country's finest players have to get up for work in the morning while the well looked after dubs players will be out playing golf on Oliver Barry's course for the day.

Capitalism rules in the capital team. It's wrong and it's what's scewing and ruining our national sport.
They get momentum, they go mad, here they go

Dubs 2016 Dubs 2017.
Amazing team, tore Westmeath to shreds in second half 2day.

Sure Donegal were unbeatable a few seasons back, that lasted a long time  ::) Kerry will win Sam  this year and then this'll be put to bed for a while at least.

Why bother bringing this up?  No body in headquarters cares. They have their cash cow. You can list all the advantages from

Home games for every match
Home dressing room
Easy access for fans
More fans at all home matches
More money
Players don't have to work
Players are all based in the county
Backroom team that would put any professional outfit to shame
Money pumped into clubs
Money pumped into coaches

We've heard them all before.

You left out one bit. We're just better then everyone else at the moment.

World class players. Enjoy them you'll never see a team like this again in your lifetime. They'll be gone in two years and won't be replaced by anything near as good.

That'll give the whingers like you ample opportunity to get back to the top ( if you can)

What's more impressive is that we've done it by producing arguably the best forward unit seen in the modern game. While other teams go down the puke route.

We entertain.

But most of all because of the modesty.
I bet Mayo beat Man City this year

Wildweasel74

They are so far ahead cause they have 6 scoring forwards (sorry 5 and a borderline lunatic) and another 3 of the bench, any other team normally have 2 good scoring forwards who teams can pin down leaving teams with no-one else to score, how u pin down an all scoring forward line?

World Class players!!!! An amateur sport played in one country or 2 to be pedantic. Dublin have eaten Leinster and no one cares. Do it without the money and maybe be somebody outside Dublin and the GAA finance department might actually care.

I'll take that Dublin team seriously when they can come to Navan and win.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

dublin7

t least the dubs go out to win.

Watching the majority of the teams in the championship this year and their priority is to set up ultra defensive keep the score down and try to sneak victory in a low scoring game.

Say what you want about the dubs, but I'd rather watch them put on an exhibition of attacking football rather than watch the handpassing Shi*te that was the connaght final last week

The stand wouldn't have the capacity to seat all the members of the Dublin backroom team.
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

Thanks for adding that very important point to the argument.

Sorry if I'm missing the sarcasm but do the Dublin players not have to work like everyone else?? Who is paying for their upkeep then?
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016
