General discussion / Latent Defect issue
August 23, 2019, 10:58:57 AM
Hi,

Appreciate if any of the legal heads on here could give me some advice.

Got a letter yesterday from the FSCS stating that the company that my developer had used for latent defect insurance had gone into liquidation and they attached a refund of premium for the unexpired term of the policy for my property (purchased last year - new build).

As it stands I have no cover and not sure what the options are?  What are the implications etc?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

General discussion / Stuff for the House
April 18, 2018, 02:19:53 PM
Folks,

Moving into a new property in the next couple of weeks.  Really need some furniture with the priority being a bed and wardrobe.  Any suggestions where I could pick up something which is decent priced and relatively modern looking?  Not looking to venture round 10 stores before making a choice.

Thanks

GAA Discussion / U14 Feile
June 25, 2017, 12:43:23 AM
Noticed that Burren won the U14 All-Ireland Premier competition in Sligo.  Is this some sorta separate competition to the Feile currently being held in Monaghan, Cavan, and Fermanagh?  I thought this was the competition which included all the various county champions as well the hosts.  Apologies, didn't see a thread anywhere else.

General discussion / Smartphones
March 26, 2012, 05:05:11 PM

Lads,

Been looking to move onto a contract phone for a while now - any recommendations or even good deals on pay as you go smartphones (would be willing to pay between £150-200)?

Also, has anyone ever had any bother with the o2 credit check? I tried to get an iphone 4 initially, but was asked to fork out a £300 deposit! Find this hard to understand, considering I have never owned a credit card and am not in any sort of debt - was thinking it may be to do with my home address which doesn't have a hse number as such, cause it's in the country?

General discussion / Working and travelling in Canada
January 10, 2011, 10:57:39 AM

Lads,

Unsure as to whether there has been a thread already, but looking some information on this.

Thinking of getting a visa and heading out for a year to work/travel.  Anyone been and done it? Recommend it?

No ties or anything to keep me here for the foreseeable future, so think it would be a good move.  Have an uncle out in Toronto, so could probably stay wth him whilst I get myself sorted.

Would it be advisable to try and get job before visa, or vice versa?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

General discussion / Scum of the Earth
October 26, 2007, 01:35:00 PM
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tees/7063366.stm

A man who urinated on a woman as she lay dying and shouted "this is YouTube material" has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Anthony Anderson also covered Christine Lakinski with shaving foam after she collapsed in a Hartlepool street.

The 50-year-old, who suffered from a number of medical conditions, was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Andrews, 27, and from Raby Road in the Teesside town, had earlier admitted outraging public decency.

The court heard how, on 27 July, Miss Lakinski was making her way home with a box of laminate flooring when she fell ill and stumbled into a doorway.

Anderson had smoked a cannabis joint and been drinking when he and two friends spotted her.

He tried to rouse her by throwing a bucket of water over her, before urinating on her and covering her with shaving foam. The incident was filmed on a mobile phone.

She was later declared dead at the scene, the cause of death being given as pancreatic failure.

Magistrates in Hartlepool had referred the case to Teesside Crown Court so a longer jail term could be handed out.

Hope he enjoys his sentence....SCUM!

General discussion / Letterkenny Hotspots
October 02, 2007, 10:11:53 AM
Right folks,

I'm hitting Letterkenny this wkend with a few others and was wondering where the best places are to head. Heading up Friday night and staying til Sunday. I was thinking a few pubs/disco bars and then hitting a nightclub afterwards. Been before a couple of years ago but can't mind for the life of me where we went! Oh yeah, when recommending places, take into account the number of ladiesssss who frequent the place!

Wolfe Tone is not an option!

General discussion / Favourite Fast Food outlets?

Right folks, name your favourite place for tucking into a delightfully greasy burger and chip or whatever else you prefer!!

It means I can also pop into these places if I'm about your area! Oh, I'm a greedy mess indeed!  ;D

For me it has to be Kenny's in Enniskillen....Gaels lad will know what I'm on about! Lovely!  :P

Probably a little early to talk about but sure.....

Does anyone know if the draw has been made for these competitions? What county representatives play who?

Who are the teams in contention to represent their respective counties at these grades?

I'm sure there is a few of ya's who play footie/hurling at some sort of level, be it Junior/Intermediate/senior. How much training do ya's do per week? Does it suffice? Can never make training meself as away from home during the week, so basically rely on matches at the wkend and doing about 40 min work-outs at the gym 2/3 times a week (Mainly consisting of the cardio). I'm never sure if this is keeping me on par with the other's in terms of fitness.

General discussion / Holiday

Right, desperate to get away somewhere before the summer ends, even for a week!! Prob be 3/4 of us blokes looking good nightlife, cheap booze, slags, banter, waterparks etc etc. You know the craic! Good websites to find cheap holidays? Would even consider heading somewhere in Ireland!

Right, I'm pure bored so I started a new thread. Where you reckon is the best large town or that to head out in? Taking into consideration; Bars, clubs, hot women, dirty women, craic etc etc.  :D
