Is he in the army as well? Does that mess up his career prospects?

General discussion / Re: Veil ban in France.

I beleive this law upholds the civil liberties of muslim women meaning they do not have to wear the veil. It is all about the society you want to have. We do not want people demonstrating demented values in public on a daily basis. You can not function going around covered from head to toe and society will not function properly if Muslims or anybody else is allowed behave in extreme or anti social ways.

What would you say if a non muslim woman or man turned up for work covered in black sheets with holes cut out for the eyes saying they wanted to and it was their right. You would tell them to f**k off home with themselves and dress properly before coming to work and rightly so. France and countries like it will have big problems if the do not encourage promote and even enforce proprr social integration.

General discussion / Veil ban in France.

I agree with this move by the French government to ban the wearing of the burqa in public. What idiots do in the privacy of their own homes is their business. However the rest of us should not have to put up with their demented ideologies in public places, the work place or schools.

General discussion / Re: US Masters 2011
April 11, 2011, 09:15:03 AM
I think saying he will struggle to close out major tournaments misses the point a bit. Nobody has ever won the masters leading through all 4 rounds. Rory was leading through all of 3 and a half rounds and it is nearly the same in all the majors. I think Harrington won all his coming from behind. The same as Schwartzel last night coming from behind with no pressure on. That is the way major golf tournaments go. It is a funny thing to say but you want to play badly the first three and a half rounds and well in the last 9 holes to win a major.

Rory is not Sergio Garcia, he will come back from this.

Was playing myself yesterday afternoon and a had a similar back nine to Rory >:(
Chatting about it with a few lads before it started I made the Garcia comparison and said that if he blew up in a big way it could scar him permanently and he might never win a major. Unfortunately that's what happened and his head went completely (but a sliver lining was I stuck a few bob on that he'd shoot 80!).

It'll be interesting to watch him over the next few tournaments to see if he can recover. Personally I think he'll always struggle to close out big tournaments but would like to be proved wrong

Donald goes to ten under but more players are slipping up. It is still up in the air.

Sorry for all those that watched the first three and a half rounds but Rory isn't going to win it. Golf tournaments kike the Masters are often decided in the final nine holes. Good tv but tragic for McElroy.

Tiger misses a chance to take the lead.

Not finishing that try and giving up 2 soft tries cost Ulster today. Their scrum got messed up a bit today by a strong Northampton pack.

Another inevutable win for Leinster. Not a great game but on to the semis in Croke Park?

when will that game be on capt pat ? how tough would it be to get tickets

That will depend on whether the game is on in the Aviva or Croke Park. It will be Croke Park if Ulster wins as they do not want 2 rugby games in the Aviva too close to the uefa cup final.

Fell asleep half an hour into Donnie Darko last night, did I miss much? I see This Is England is on tonight, too. Have heard good reports so must watch it.

If somebody told me the story of Donnie Darko and said do you want to watch that movie, I would say no. However watching it,  it is just a very good profound, deep and memorable movie. It is not unique but very well done.

That was stupid. It would have been impressive if he had done it before the kick.
