Was in the town for a while over the weekend. Thanks be to God it was only for as long as necessary  :P

Two successive nights of rioting and burning of, err, wheelie bins, in Lurgan. 

Of course, the media is reporting it as trouble in the [nationalist] area of Edward St, but didn't say that it started after Loyalist mobs ran amok in the area, smashing car and house windows after a certain soccer result on Saturday.  As one SDLP elected rep said, Lurgan's still the last bastion of the radical.

Is it just about people with not much going on and an excuse to cause trouble or is there a reason for the rioting?
