No. That was the twins who had the altercation with Lynch.

Sorry they hit Lynch and Mc Kenna had the altercation with the twins  ;D

Wrong... Paul was on the bench that day and hit lynch in the tunnel. the Twins were on the pitch and tangled with most people

Whatever about Brolly, O'Rourke is a legend. He just tells it like it is.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

neutral

looks like he hits more lunches than lynches these days.

well if he had done a good enough job coaching them so that they
1 - looked like footballers
2 - played like footballers

then there would have been no problem...

Tell's what like it is? That some lad would be better off gettin a haircut than playin football? What the Frack has that got to do with the game? As a previous poster said, him and Brolly get into slaggin matches. Colm O'Rourke is an ignornant pr*ck in my opinion. He tries to be controversial all the time which results in him highlighting just how ignorant he is!

He's excellent at giving negative analysis though so I suppose he's good at somethin..

it's amazing that if brolly had said the same about the dubs - you'd be agreeing with him- perhaps it's because he slagged off 2 ulster teams in a  diabolical game that has people so worked up.
what did he say that was so bad?-
that the match was rubbish- which it was
that cavan looked unfit- which they did
that the cavan forwards shoot on sight and are complete individuals- which they are.
that the defending from both sides was emabarssing- which it was

Bull and shit.

That's precisely what he DIDN'T say Indiana. It's what he was inferring alright but he chose to put it in stupid, corner-boy terms like "not the first cousin of an intercounty player" and so on. He could have made the exact same legitimate enough points without resorting to crass cynicism or personalised sniping and sneering, and that's what people in the GAA don't like. Too many pundits have unashamed ego-massaging, profile-boosting agendas when it comes to GAA on TV and instead of doing the job properly resort to this sort of nonsense for the sake of controversy.

And for the list, Gerry Sheridan made Brolly look like the great grandfather of a once half-decent corner-forward when we beat Derry in 1997. Put that up your cake hole Joe.

its easier to spot a guy who 'doesnt' look like a footballer...

Still not talking about Brolly, yeah?

As for O Rourke, I lost all respect for him when he said that if a player as limited as Dooher wins an AI medal he'd eat his hat.

If that wasn't being controversial for the sake of it, I don't know what is.

I'm not an enormous Dooher fan but that was a dirty one.

He also advocated a transfer system for inter county players in his Sindo column a few times

Which of the two where saying longford needed more farmers on the team?
Anyway, long story short... is a phrase whose origins are complicated and rambling.
