They ripped it to shreds on South Park the other week apparently it's a rip off of some film out a long time ago... I'll still probably watch it though.

Anybody into this Twilight Vampire crap? It's out tonight and it will push James Cameron very close as the biggest film of the year. The franchise is a complete gold mine at this stage!!

I have seen 2012 and can confirm that it is one of the worst films I have ever watched. Terrible and the special effects/last minute escapes are just tiresome.

Gimmi a break.

I saw 2012 and its like this...
If you are willing to leave your brain at the door and you enjoy excellent (although far fetched) special effects and eye candy then you wont be disappointed.
If you like your action films like Independence Day and the Transformers series then this film is for you.

Its fun, but dont take it seriously as its more of a piss take of disaster films.
Visually its ground-breaking and a good cinematic experience in that way only; as the plot is so hysterically far-fetched it actually pokes fun at itself.

I have also seen The Men Who Stare At Goats this week.
Pure shite, avoid it like the plague.

Saw it last night and was very wary of it as my brother said it was possibly the worst film he'd ever seen.

I actually thought it was quite funny. Not brilliant or anything and probably not to everyone's taste but it was dark and very quirky and I thought Clooney's performance was exceptional. He has that loveable weirdo quality which he has displayed so well before in films like O Brother Where Art Thou and Leatherheads. It's actually the same kind of humour as those 2 films so if you enjoyed them you will enjoy this.

Nother Clooney film thats I though was piss your pants funny was burn after reading! If its out on DVD get it, class film.

Watched the men who stare at goats the other night-it was very funny in places, others just a nightmare. Thought spacey giving clooney the death slap was brilliant-"you dont know when its coming, but once you have been hit with it, eventually the death slap will catch up on you!"

It's alright... not worth the hype it generated but not awful either.

What is it with people and TAKEN ???
I honestly thought it was awful
You'll Never Walk Alone.

leenie

the books are very good imo...

i am in interested in seeing new moon,  because twilight had very little money spent on it and the special effects are limited... it was only after twilights release that it became so popular....
a lot more money has been spent on new moon and has an added cast of michael sheen and dakota fanning....

i do hope they don't stray to far away from the book as it is well written and not too unrealistic...

i won't be going to see it until next week or so as it is all my students and scor children have been talking about so i think i would feel a tad bit too old!

Yeah, Dance with Wolves. Reading the synopsis of Avatar it sounds uncannily similar, only with aliens instead of Indians. Dances with Wolves was excellent though, so if you're gonna copy another movie you could do a lot worse.

Seen it there today, enjoyable enough, passed a couple of hours.  Don't think I'd be runnign to watch it again though, by no means a classic.
Other disaster films are a lot better imo.  Loved the bit where it showed glimpse of the Queen and the corgis heading for the ship, I like subtle details like that.

2012 a load of rubbish. End of.

Leenie, went to see New Moon this evening and thought it was very good. It stays as close to the book as possible in the two hours running time. I am a big fan of the Twilight series and the next one is due out in June. Downside is the amount of fecking children talking during the film. That really gets on my wick people talking during a film  >:(

Watched a deadly film yesterday evening. Its an older film and it was on true movies on sky and bes on regularly. Its called Gone in the Night and its in 2 parts - excellent film- based on a couple who were wrongly convicted for the kidnap and murder of their 7 year old daughter. Very thought provoking and very sad. Cops were disgusting in it.

I have Terminator Salvation at the house, watching it tonight - any good?  Never got into Star Trek either but a friend who is freakish about it said the new one is brilliant and takes it from the start so you need not know anything about it previously.
