Kurt Warner to announce retirement tomorrow. Im sure he wont have to go back to stacking supermarket shelves in Iowa.

Legend.

Well said Minder, he was an amazing qb to watch and he will be missed, the leader of the greatest show on turf, threw td's for fun and was the consummate professional.

The packers had him and cut him, they had to they thought, they had Favre, Hasselbeck, Warner and one other stud whose name escapes me. best stable ever imho.
Mark Brunell, who is backing up Brees in New Orleans now.

Brunell, he was a tremendous player for five or six years as well. Can you imagine a better four qb's on the same team?

I didn't know that - that's savage

I'm gutted if he retires, but as I said before I'm just delighted he played in Arzona and changed the culture there. Instead of being perennial 4-12 to 7-9 sort of team, he changed that to being Divisional Champs two times in a row, and playoff wins in both years.

Lads I'm after purchasing Club Wembley tickets for the match in October.  From other experiences does anyone know how long before the event do you receive the tickets?

Club Rossa

I was at the Giants v Dolphins game in 07,my tickets arrived about 4 weeks before the game.
Won't be rushing back to a Wembley game though, doesn't come anywhere near the atmosphere and gameday experience in the States.

Thanks

I do plan on going to Denver to a game sometime but for the moment thats out as I have plans to go elsewhere first.

Club Rossa

don't get me wrong,i would probably go again if my own team was playing.
Have you been to a NFL game before?

Galwaybhoy

Nope if all goes to plan this will be my first time.  So I wont have a game in the US to compare it to.

You will have a great time I am sure.

I have been to roughly fifty or so NFL games and it is my intention never to go to another one, I enjoy watching the games in the basement or in a bar rather than being at the actual game.

In Green bay, parking is a nightmare, the weather is usually in negative digits and you sit and freeze your hole off watching five seconds of action every forty seconds, then there is the 3 time outs per team each half, review time outs, two two minute warning and of course tv time outs.

The atmosphere at lambeau and foxboro is great and the only place that compares to lambeau atmosphere wise is kansas City, at least that i have been to.

The first few times were great, the corporate boxes are great, free wine and food but overall I would much rather watch University Of Green Bay college basketball team, now thats a far better American sport to watch.

You'll enjoy it. I was at the first two and missed last year's. I'll be back in October this year, please God, but I won't be in the 'club' tickets section :D

Was a a few Eagles games when I was over and the atmosphere was amazing! the philly fans are a law onto themselves-well some of them anyway! If they had of been playing the 9ers I would have went for sure, just couldn't be bothered going to a game to watch two teams I'm not interested in-as Stew said much better watching in a bar or at home!

Also guys whats this spread betting? I get the handicap betting but not the spread? Whats the +55 all about?

It may be the over under you're talking about? Over under 55 is total points scored, and you bet whether it'll be more, or less than that. The odds stay the same no matter what the game, normally, but the over/under depends on the matchup.

mikasas

Nah I know the over/under carry on, I'll post the bet direct from the website:

NFL
Date Price Match Price
7 Feb 10  -  23:25 10/11  New Orleans Saints v Indianapolis Colts (-5.5)  10/11      + 55

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NFL Pro Bowl
Date Price Match Price
1 Feb 10  -  00:30 10/11  AFC v NFC (-2.0)  10/11      + 2

I have three hundred on the under, that number surprised the life out of me, I dont think 45 points will be scored. This is the most I have ever bet on any game in my life but I am confident that I will win.
