Surely every child got a game. I'd be surprised if around 30 kids went to Newry from Dublin with a handful getting gametime. I was coaching our u-9s last year, and every club we played had 2 or 3 teams. I'd like to imagine this tournament was no different.

Next 5-6 games will make or break the season you'd imagine.
Wolves away, Everton at Home, Newcastle away, then Madrid, Palace away and Man United at home.
Was disappointing to lose yesterday but the above games are more important, wouldn't be confident at all going into any of those games though.

Not even Everton or Man Utd?

Disgraceful behaviour.

He should have chosen the much more noble and acceptable option of managing Scotstown to the county championship for monetary reward.
Playing is different to managing. It's extremely difficult to get a club man to manage their own club!
That's very true and I suppose we are just lucky that the stars align in such a way that the clubs who cannot afford to pay an outsider just so happen to be the ones who can find an internal candidate year after year after year.

You are also correct in saying that changing clubs as a player is different to changing clubs as a manager for financial reward.
I mean, a glaringly obvious difference is that one is against the rules of the association and the other one isn't.
Is there many clubs managed by a club man these days? Bar Cross I can't think of too many in Armagh. McConville at  St Pauls last year I think?

We had an outsider once. Never again (if I have my way).

So the relegation favs :

Ros and Donegal won
Monaghan lost
and welcome, Tyrone, to the conversation

Mayo could end up in a battle if they don't beat Armagh next week.
Still have to fancy them to beat 3 of Tyrone, Monaghan, Donegal and Rossies if we beat them. Really looking forward to getting crack at them at home!

Tyrone maybe. Donegal we've never won in Donegal - crazy but true stat. Roscommon another maybe, they won't fear anyone after today. Monaghan - ask the Dubs last year about them in the last game! A win next week would ease the nerves though.

In saying all that, I expect us to be hard beaten all year and teams will have to earn victories against us.

David McKeown won't panic. Sure he missed the first round last year and won the league competition outright.

Nice to have Evanne Ní Chuilinn instead of Joanne Cantwell in the hotseat tonight too.

It's a funny old game. Mayo probably should have won it, but you have to make sure the shots go over the bar and not drop short for that to happen. Then again, Galway will argue they had similar arguments for a win for their side.

Reasonably happy with the draw. Mayo will have to keep up the intensity levels for the year because the options taken by some of the forwards was not good enough for top level.

Be some bottle job if they lose it from here. Squad depth be key but think Arsenal have enough to do it.
Man United were only in the title race for 3 days before they bottled it  ;D

Utd were never in a title race.

Can you change a selection before the midnight tonight?

That's a strong team alright. Joyce mustn't like Tomo Culhane or is he playing Sigerson?

I can't believe Laois are in Division 4. Used always be a solid Div 2 team or so I thought.

Doesn't HQ have to send the appeal to Kilmacud and give them 3 days for any response they wish to submit.

You'd have thought that if you're looking for KC to respond to something it would be from a ruling Croke have sent them?
It's like a legal thingy... you make your case, I'm asked to respond, then Judge considers and rules on the matter.

I suspect KC will get a fine for not taking their man off and the Ref mind find himself getting eased off the list.

Yes, and I heard Marty Morrissey saying Glen, (if they're unhappy with whatever's said by KC ) can have three more days to consider appealing.  :D ::)
