We all have to work. If some people choose to do some of that work in the public eye, so what?

Is unseen work not a distraction, while publicly visible work is a distraction? How does this thinking work? Do this all change after you win an All-Ireland medal and suddenly not become a distraction?

It's attributable to age in Bernard's case. Something that AOS can't claim.

Indeed it could be attributable to age but by some peoples reckoning if Bernard Brogan did not have 90,000 twitter followers and spent less time in the public eye despite his age he would be a better footballer and thus Jim Gavin is tolerating Bernard Brogan not playing to his full potential. So it would seem because he has a few All Ireland's won this is fine. What Im wondering is would this be fine for Brian Cody.   Or maybe I'm picking this up wrong. Is it just young people with no All Ireland's that this affliction effects.
I'm also wondering could the bar stool sports psychologists on here enlighten us as to at what point does exposure to limelight have the optimum effect on a player. Like would 20,000 twitter followers have half the effect as 40,000. Would an after match interview for RTE have the same  effect as a Newstalk radio interview.  It seems Sunday paper interviews are not recommended but what about a few words for the local weekly. I'm also presuming shows like The Toughest Trade are a definite no no, but should O'Shea be cutting out all TV appearances.
Maybe the right job would be  if Mayo could play games behind closed doors with no TV cameras. You know with all these egos flying around the place any bit of exposure could set them off
