It was  always going to turn out this way.

ETH  was clearly out of his depth this time last year. Last season was a  disaster , bar a good first half in FA  cup final against a  lacklustre City.

The club never came out and backed  him  after the  cup final , and waited weeks before confirming  he was  staying. ETH should have walked away after the cup final , as his reputation would have been  enhanced. Instead , he remained, and his reputation is now in  tatters.

We all knew the same old shite would  continue in the new season . I  said  he'd be gone before Christmas before a ball was  kicked. That looks very unlikely even  now.

The season is already  a write off.  If he limped on for another month or  two , it won't matter. The odd good result now won't  mean diddly.  ETH clearly is out of his depth,  the  squad is poor and there is  a lot of deadwood to shift. A temporary manager will limp on to season's end.  A new manager won't be found until the summer , then he'll have  to work miracles in  his first season otherwise he's under pressure too.

The club is an  absolute shitshow.

So I see.

It's all so  predictable. Their ramped up fear-mongering  will fool enough  people to  give them the  excuse to blow the  shit out of Iran. Even if it doesn't, they'll still  blow the shit  out of Iran.

It's  all like a repeat episode of Eastenders.

Quote from: theskull1 on October 01, 2024, 11:47:47 AMVery much feels like war with Iran is the ultimate plan in the middle east. Might the failed trump assassination attempt have set these plans back a few weeks?

If Iran don't engage directly with Israel after their invasion of Lebanon, I'd fully expect a/another(??) false flag in the US to fire them up to get involved in an all out war with Iran.

What do you think  that would entail?

Quote from: brokencrossbar1 on October 01, 2024, 09:02:02 AMThe biggest mistake that United have made is having Ferguson about so much. I know they can't do anything about it but honestly until he is completely off side then his influence will continue to permeate through the club. Harking back to the 'good old days',  etc etc.

Here's the thing,  historically United have had 2 periods,  1950's to late 1960's under Busby and Ferguson era. Outside of that they have been bang average. A few FA Cups. These two
Managers won 18 out of 20 leagues and all their Euro titles. That says a lot. Outside of that they have fluctuated around upper mid table in the league and picked off a few FA/League cups. They should be better than they are, and the set up is dreadful,  but in real terms the success is reflective of the majority of their history,  pre 1992.

As for Keane....please do...would be beautiful!!!
Mind reading that one of the first things Ferguson done was to road Busby from about the place. :D

Wasn't Busby in a simliar honorary position as Ferguson and was attendance for the 1992/93 season to see United win their first league title for 20 plus years.

He was exactly and was about the ground and training centre quite a bit during that time.

I don't think Ferguson has the influence or sway that he once had at the club.

I'm not so sure

Didn't  Fergie  instigate Ronaldo's return? "Come home , son"..."OK Boss",... was the gist according to interviews  from both

In hindsight, United weren't doing that badly (in comparison with now, anyway)  with  Ole , but Ronaldo ,even with his goals,  seemed to upset  the  team's chakras or something . Things went downhill from there. And really really downhill in ole's last few matches. They have never recovered since

Quote from: seafoid on September 30, 2024, 05:47:18 PMThe latest schtick from Israel is that they can hunt anyone down and have the best intelligence in the business. they weren't saying this last October 7th when Hamas attacked.

From the  beginning, something didn't smell  right to me about the  7th October attacks.

Considering what Israel have done since ,  my smell senses were right.

Roy Keane is the man to iron out the rest of the season, but there's too much politics involved, the club is couped

But hey, lets fire some admin staff and make everyone come into the office whether it makes sense or not!.

All the while the Glazers keep siphoning and siphoning more profits into their own pockets.

An absolute masterstroke how they've silenced Nev, on the stadium working group now as a useful idiot, won't be hearing any more anti-Glazer blather any time soon

What's that when it's  at home?

Did they buy his  silence like the Saudis did with Henderson?

Jamie Redknapp got it right  yesterday. He said ETH is   out of his depth . Whatever about  the players he has, or those he has signed ( and he has signed some  crap!), Redknapp  is  correct. He's  way out of his depth.

No harm to the fella , but the sooner he's put  out of his misery the  better.  Although , the cycle of shit will just continue under the  new man, getting rid of more deadwood and  trying to build.

United as a club at the minute  reminds me of the two old fellas in Trading Places , who had a bet on  ruining Dan Akyroyd.  It's like  two old fellas have  a bet on to absolutely bring down Man Utd by  hiring imbeciles to run the thing

The one thing about him  that sticks out is when they  passed him off as Gerald Ford. Dont really  recall him in anything else.  BHC was such a good film though.  Second one too.

Yeah, but just think of the money a select group will make out of the wars, never mind the absolute destruction and loss of life

Exactly, there's lots of money to be made  with wars. Western governments/politicians  are all puppets, controlled by   said "select group" , which is why nobody is shouting stop.  Human life means  nothing to these psychopaths.

The whole  thing is like  a carefully rehearsed  stage  play.

From a team point of view, he commands instant respect and takes no shit, as a starting point for the talent available thats easily enough to stabilise

I agree, it's a sinking ship, with EtH you're lucky to finish top half

Keane was dismissed as Ipswich manager on 7 January 2011.
That's nearly 15 years since he has had a Management job.

That would be a huge gamble, for even a desperate Man Utd.

That's only short of 14 years  ;)

I think  Keane is too long out of the game  now at this point to  become a club manager.

Maybe he's happy  enough with that as the TV  work is steady , and there's none  of the stress  of a managerial role.

Plus , he's a granda now apparently, and the family are likely settled , and he probably likes  the time now to spend with them.  Also,   there  are  probably few jobs around the Manchester area that  are available, or would suit not uprooting his family

I wouldn't rule out him becoming Ireland manager in future although  he seemed to be linked recently and it didn't happen  for whatever reason

Seems like the same  old crap.  Ten Hag will be gone within  weeks .

Southgate will be in, possibly  as caretaker until the end of the season.

In reality, who else is out  there? Or who out there would  touch it?

Quote from: trueblue1234 on September 28, 2024, 08:56:00 PMWhitey has what he wants anyway. Trying to keep the chat on Hamas than taking a look at any of Israel's actions. Despite the fact, that they are not comparable. Job done 🇺🇸
TrueBlue-the questions which no one here can or will answer are:
What did Hamas hope to accomplish by the attack on October 7th?

What exactly did they think the Israeli response would be?
Hamas (from my vantage point anyway) we're looking for provoke Israel into a ground invasion which in turn would provide them (Hamas) with a propaganda victory
The problem is that Hamas underestimated Israel's resolve
They created this and drew it upon their own population

There are many that think all of this began on October 7th 2023. Many who think that everything was nice and peaceful up to this. Many who ask why did Hamas do such a thing? Should they continue being under Apartheid regime, being open-air prisoners, continue being second class citizens, continue being put out of their homes, continue being put out of their land.

Hamas did the 7th to provoke Israel. They expected a retaliation. Probably what they didn't expect was the monstrous  level of the retaliation by Israel, this coupled with the world hierarchy sitting on their hands and letting this happen.

But no one of importance has said STOP. And Mileikowsky has pushed and pushed things beyond the limits and will continue to do so.

Luckily, I believe in Karma.

What  level of karma would  come close to equalling  Israel's murderous campaign?

Quote from: From the Bunker on September 28, 2024, 09:57:55 AMNo offence, but this is such a tiresome thread. People listing (in the main) really popular songs from really popular Bands/Groups/Individuals.

It's as thought provoking as the arguments of who is the best football player in the world during the Messi/Ronaldo era.

Well that was  sort of the whole point. A band/singer with maybe  20+ hits , and you have to narrow  it down to your favourite three.  Depending on your liking of said artist , that could be an impossible task

It's also a  good thread  for maybe delving into someone  you aren't a fan of, just by others recommendations..

But most of all , it's just a  bit of craic .

By the way , fell free to recommend a band/singer we could do later. After  we do Steps , of course!  ;D
