Received in post this morning. Complimentary 125 Year commemorative jersey (the blue and white one as worn in the recent match with Villa), priced at £55, just for taking out an MBNA Tottenham Hotspur Credit Card, with interest free on balance transfers for a year as well! Not bad, eh? ;D

I will remind you of the following. Which Ireland team qualified for

Euro 88
Italia 90
USA 94
Japan/Korea 2002

Which Irish team qualified for a play off for

France 98
Holland/Belgium 2000

Which Irish team didn't need a fix at Wembley to qualify for its last World Cup Finals appearance?

It amazes me to consider that there are sane people, and lots of them apparently, who believe that the six county side has a snowballs chance in hell of taking 6 points from Denmark and Spain. One in my opinion would be  a more realistic target and I still fancy the real Ireland to finish third in their group, while the 6 county side finishes fourth.

Then again there are people who also believe that Scotalnd will beat Italy and qualify for the Finals as well. ::)

Had to laugh when I read an extract from Sanchez book, explaining the 3-0 home defeat to Iceland. "They had more Premiership players than us" :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D To think this tosser is temporarily in charge of a Premiership club currently ::)

Sammy in 1973 seven six county born players, Jennings, Craig, Hunter, O'Neill, Hamilton, O'Kane and Dougan accepted of their own volition, and invitation to play in an All Ireland team against Brazil. They were opposed by the IFA and Dougan who was perceived to be the organiser was never selected by the IFA again.

If a similar invitation is extended to David Healy (who is on record as saying he'd like to play at Croker) and other six county born players, and the IFA seek to debar these players, then they cannot with any credibility claim to believe in Football for All

Dowie, we the six county branch of the FAI Supporters club are offering a special deal for people like yourself to "come home". Abandon the aliens at Windsor and sign up for the new Lansdowne. You know it makes sense.

Meanwhile support my campaign (see to-day's Irish News and Irsih Independent) to have the forthcoming friendly at Croker to be an All Ireland select versus Brazil. This will show just how much the IFA believes in Football for All

I have decided to attend the EGM at the Lane on November 26th, at which Levy is to speak about the Jol affair. Thats two AGM's, Celtic and Spurs, Glasgow and London, in the space of seven days. Is it any wonder I'm thinking of relinquinishing my financial stake in football clubs? ;D

Two goals (once again the Robster is in electrifying goalscoing form this season) and more importantly a clean sheet, very significant when we have conceded three goals to shite like Fulham this season

Definitely an improvement

General discussion / Re: Irish League thread

I too have a passing interest no more. Harry Fay, Dungannon manager, is an old mate of mine as we grew up more or less beside each other and would have played together. Also David Scullion, Glentoran, plays for my GAA Club in Portadown.

Standard is pretty poor though I have to say, as are the facilities. You only have to look at the European results up against shite teams. I am old enough to remember Linfield getting to the quarter finals of the European Cup in 1967 and Linfield beating the likes of Man City (Colin Bell Francis Lee ) and Glentoran beating Arsenal  ;D in home legs of European ties. Now they can't even hold their own against pub teams from Latvia etc

On another point, did you see the photo of the legend in the November edition of Hotspur? The guy with me is called Jennings by the way ;D

Could these jobs not have been saved....onto a floppy disk at least? ;D

The problem is that it has got the Huns three victories over Celtic in 2007.

Just got notice to-day of an EGM on Monday November 26th at White Hart Lane, although the agenda is all about financial matters there should still be some craic about Jol.

I have arranged to go to the Celtic AGM in Glasgow on the previous Monday unfortunately.

What the hell were Hughton and Jol doing at the Southend game on Saturday?

Ramos reputedly bringing Fredi back along with Alves (a super player) and Palop in from Seville.

PS Even though we are playing shit its good to see we can still score more goals than the Goons at Anfield and don't have to rely on late equalisers to scrape a point there ;D

Never mind Pietas, when Spirit of 91and94 is hurling abuse at me he is not self abusing himself ;D

Good blog about the Jol situation on BBC Sport. The whole thing can be traced back to the defeat by the Goons last January (after a two goal lead was lost) followed up be a similar defeat by chelsea in the FA Cup. The Board began to seriously doubt whether Jol was good enough to help the club realise its ambitions. Apparently he pissed off the Board as well, constantly claiming how much he was in demand from other clubs. This should have ended last summer, instead of allowing the current mess that was waiting to happen, to develop. I feel they got it right in their assessment, Jol is good but not good enough for a club with Champions league aspirations

Its good to see a Manager like Ramos leave a club that is doing ok in the Champions League for Spurs all the same. Hope he takes Fredi Kanoute back as well, another of Jol's serious mistakes.

One way or another the AGM is going to be good crack this year!

Are you Porky Parry in disguise?

Wenger will soon realise that he will never fulfill his European ambitions with the Goons and is bound to be made an offer he can't refuse by one of Europe's big clubs which matches his ambition ;D

The obvious solution here is Klinsmann (I too am far from convinced about Ramos, he is another Benitez, looks good on the surface but might be found wanting). Klinsmann is readily available, no big compensation fee and has stated that he wants to work in London. If Levy can't see this then perhaps he too should follow Jol down the High Road
