Des Mackin (Cullyhanna) played four years as a minor for Armagh.

1990 - played centre back
1991 - played full forward and scored a hattrick in the the first round Vs Down
1992 - played full forward on the team that won Ulster and lost the All Ireland final to a last minute Meath goal
1993 - played full forward and played for the seniors the same year
Same Des Mackin that played for Na Fianna in Dublin?
Yep its the same Des

Yep, Na Fianna had him and Geezer and also Geezers brother in the squad which is sometimes not known. They were a League of Nations that year!

Couple of big Galway/Connacht men round midfield also from memory?

Paul Durcan and Nigel Clancy from Sligo both played with Na Fianna. Micheal Colleran-Galway, Kevin O'Neill-Mayo, Enda Ledwith-Longford and Enda & Justin McNulty transferred to club in later years.

Mattie McDonagh and Dermot Earley were great.

Seán Forde from Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo was McGeeney's midfield partner. Defo not the living like a monk type!

Best minor I saw was Pearse Hanley, had it all as a player.

Des Mackin now selling Cava and Cupcakes in Barcelona! A load of the older lads said they spent years trying to get him involved in the club out here but with no success.

Mark Lynch was an incredible underage and schools player in both football and hurling.

Played against Marty Clarke once in the Paul McGirr U16/U17 semi-final. We'd won preliminary round and QF pretty well and thought we were decent. An Riocht absolutely obliterated us and Clarke nearly scored a header.

I forgot about Mark Lynch. He was some minor alright.

ONeill

Lynch and Clarke stood out. Yer lad Doyle too from Down a few years before that.

I liked that Down minor side from 05. Colgan, Fitzpatrick, Clarke and McComiskey.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

gallsman

Colgan was a big loss to Down. Feels like he and McKernan should have been the spine of the senior team for ten years or so. There was a Brannigan on that team too that I think might have been a 3 year minor as well.

ONeill

That's right, and there was a Joe Ireland who was decent on the Kilkeel side.

Aye, Ireland, Colgan and Clarke were all on the Kilkeel team that won the McLarnon in 04 and could/should have won the MacCrory in 05. Think they lost by a point either after extra time or in a replay. Ireland was too old for the county minor team that year though.

Think they lost the following year by a point as well
