Iran will take its time in replying. Israel has bitten off more than it can chew.

The sanctions against Israel can't come soon enough. Israel is out of control.

Quote from: Cortoon on June 11, 2025, 10:26:40 AMArmagh will want to win this one. They've a chance to knock out one of the main teams who can stop them from retaining Sam. They'll go full strength.

Armagh can only knock out Galway if Derry beat or draw with Dublin.

Hurling Discussion / Re: Munster Championship

Quote from: johnnycool on June 11, 2025, 10:26:55 AMEvidently for you the County game is the be all and end all and that's fine, but for a lot of us involved with clubs up and down the country the split season is a godsend and guess what, the intercounty players are also on for the split season as they can plan their lives around it with a degree of certainty.

If anything traditionally the Munster championship was straight knock out as was the entire intercounty championships, do we revert back to that?
And it also can't be about money as the Munster Council have lost out on a huge payday if there was a replay down in Cork!
I understand your dislike for the penalty shootout, not overly keen on it myself, but it's for the greater good unless you're a lazy journalist.

If there's a bit of fine tuning to have the AI the later in July, I could live with that but we can't be going back to AI's in September which in turn push club hurling even further into the depths of winter and into the following year.

There could be a 4 week break in hurling and football in July to start club games and the all Ireland series to start in August.

About $140bn has been allocated to border security and immigration-related enforcement in Trump's tax bill. That's a lot of money for ICE.

Who would bet against Trump in the battle for public opinion? Less than 200 days into his second term, he has trampled over more laws and ripped up more precedents than any leader in US history. He has enriched himself and his family with overseas crypto sales and golf resort deals, launched a war on leading universities and medical institutions, ignored serial court orders to give deportees legal rights, declared, paused and partially resumed economic war on the world, and targeted his enemies with investigations and stripped them of security protection.

Limerick had too many wides at key points in the match. They didn't have enough accuracy. Cork stayed in touch to end with a draw after 90 minutes. Anyone could have won the penalties but Limerick lost. It was great to see the reaction of the Cork fans.

I bet that all of the spnsors will be asked to pony up more money. That includes the GAA @15m and the Irish Govt @43m

Israel thinks it can starve Gaza into submission. Gaza is part of Palestine. The people will never leave Palestine. Israelis don't understand this.

As professional as journalists are meant to be it must be very difficult to retain this when interviewing fu#kers like your man Mancer without wanting to call them out for what they are actually are.  Can't remember the channel but saw a journalist interviewing that other tr**p who is their UN Ambassador last week, she was on the verge of tears.

Posh, fat, red faced, gout ridden, zero compassion, white supremisist, utterly shameless, evil, a poster boy for colonisers
They lie professionally.  Their lies long ago failed to make contact with reality. Khamas khamas. Israel deserves sanctions.

Quote from: Captain Scarlet on June 03, 2025, 05:35:41 PMI'd argue the case on a lot of defenders eg Sean Kelly. Can you imagine him in the full forward line being bottled up and being pushed out from goal and still be expected to get a yard and score?

Like Shane Walsh from a skill set is hard to match. Fully both feet and drifts out too. Conroy is a decent all-rounder as he has decent footwork in tight spaces. Can move well for a big man as well.

And being from Kildare I'd always put a mention in for Johnny Doyle who was a whippet who shone at midfield, half forward and the inside line. In the modern game him coming from the half backs and swinging over would be solid. And again had vision and an engine.
Johnny Doyle is a legend.

????
A quick run up the M8 for the Cork players and management.
There won't be any Cork supporters as it's only football.
Cork football is played west of Cork City, often far west. There is no motorway in Bantry.

Unlike in other heavily populated urban settings, such as the slums of south Asia, there is no sanitation and no running water. By even the most generous calculations, each of Gaza's war-weary civilians will have less physical space than a small room to survive. When subtracting unusable land — taken up by rubble, marshes or roads and garbage dumps — the space left for each Palestinian could be even less. In the most dire calculations, it could be as little as a living room sofa. This miserable, unsanitary and dangerous overcrowding is the publicly stated goal of finance minister Smotrich, who suggests it is a necessary step to achieve a long-cherished aim of Israel's far right: forcing Palestinians out of Gaza for good. "Understanding that there is no hope, and nothing to look for in Gaza," he said, they would opt to leave and abandon their land to Israel.
