Quote from: general_lee on December 12, 2024, 02:47:57 PMTrue but don't see Cullyhanna or Killeavy being able to put back to back performances together against the likes of CE, Cross, Harps etc
Yeah agree, but they definitely capable of knocking one of the big teams out, Cullyhanna especially.
Felt Cullyhanna gave Cross too much respect in the quarter final this year and went in at half time 4 down from memory, when they threw the shackles off and really went for them caused Cross alot of bother.

Quote from: general_lee on December 12, 2024, 01:40:04 PMThink CE are a bit out ahead of the rest, though still a fairly open championship.

Cross/Clans who are probably next, along with Madden and Harps.

Don't think any of the rest would be part of the conversation. Possibly Killeavy... maybe Silverbridge.
Killeavy did push Clanns very close this year and Harps put it up to Clann Eireann well too Cross obviously had a very very tough year as a community off the field as well this year.
Cullyhanna on their day could also cause most sides problems.

Quote from: Norm-Peterson on December 11, 2024, 06:08:38 PMHearing about players on these expensive foreign trips makes me glad I am just an armchair fan and not someone who actively gives money to the GAA. Imagine your money going to pay for other mens holidays.
The clubs were asked for £2k each which I thought was a disgrace many of the smaller clubs struggling to keep head above water/improve facilities etc. Expensive enough for supporters too to follow the county team with matches every couple of weeks without being asked to put hand in pocket to fund a players partners holiday.

https://www.gaa.ie/article/2025-allianz-leagues

For the first time the GAA will charge U16s to enter its National League Games after prices for the 2025 competitions were confirmed.

Children's Tickets (U16) will be €5 for all Division 1 and Division 2 Fixtures in football and Division 1A & 1B in hurling. These tickets can only be purchased alongside an adult ticket.

Grab All..

For a lot of the Armagh games they will be hitting capacity restrictions so would be charging anyhow.
The last time Armagh in division one went to the tyrone, mayo, Kerry games had to be there hours in advance to get anywhere close to a decent spot to watch the games absolute torture.

Quote from: gawa316 on December 10, 2024, 07:31:11 PMThat doesn't answer my question though

It does as signings are meant to improve on what was already there and granted some signings take longer than others to show their worth (still waiting on Mount)  IMO that's the case on those two signings and jury is out on Zirkzee in that regard.

statto, totally different type of players.  McTominay was like square peg in a round hole when played in CDM role while Urgarte is a natural CDM.  Martinez had a good debut season, got injured and has been average to poor since.  Once Amorim settles on his strongest 11 after his current rotation I will expect the three to be Yoro,Mazraoui and DeLigt.
Fair enough points in relation to Martinez, now that you say it he has went off the boil abit after the initial public criticism from Carragher. He gives decent balance in the back three and expected him to be nailed on there

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on December 09, 2024, 10:24:46 PMNope. Still be corner back, it's his best spot.
Would agree with this
It depends on what the half backline looks like. If there is no mcgrogan or McEvoy id play him half back. He's one of the fittest and fastest players in the country. The game is going to be ridiculously fast. You can't have players like that locked up in a 3 man defence not able to leave their 45
I'd agree with this.Games going to change and line breakers are going to be key around the middle 8.this be even more evident at club level.

Both are better than what was there.
Has urgarte been much of an upgrade on mctominey? DeLigt has been a poor signing be better with mazrouri yoro and Martinez as a three more mobility and mazrouri be comfortable in wide areas.

Allison with a seamless transition back into the team Liverpool been poor in general looking as though will get another win.

Quote from: ck on December 09, 2024, 04:06:44 PMHard luck to Kilcoo yesterday. They have gone well back from their All-Ireland and I thought they looked very ordinary yesterday for long spells. They'll be asking big questions today and just are not the force they were.
My understanding is that they don't have good young players coming through so its not surprising they are on the slide.
Thought Jerome Johnston looked a pale shadow of himself yesterday and a player with plenty of miles on the clock.

Cuala 13/8

Coolera Strandhill 9/1

Errigal be the value bet there you would think.

When they are on extortionate wages yes? It took arteta a right while to get rid of alot of the dead wood that he inherited at arsenal.

Amorin is used to developing talent a bit like Klopp did at Liverpool and not buying ready made stars. The name of man utd alone should attract players along with a decent wage especially if there are signs of progress between now and end of season.

Quote from: Blowitupref on December 07, 2024, 07:49:31 PMNottm Forest had a expected goal stats of 0.78. Two of the three goals conceded was on the goalkeeper and before today he was one of the few United players that was playing well this season.

The Wood goal all three of the centre halves can take some blame in goal.Yoro losses Wood then other two are looking at eachother once he gets the header instead of trying to clear it.
