Quote from: Spike on September 29, 2024, 08:28:23 PMYeah.   Unfortunately I paid In to watch that.  As soon as cargin got back to back points I said this is over.   You could see st bs legs and belief disappear.   The hard man act and 'hold me back' routines have got very old.  They were lucky to have 15 men on the pitch after some questionable cynical tackles.   I was expecting far more from them but they the simply don't appear to have the bottle to dig deep when it matters

And they never will. A gather up on and off the pitch.

Could that not be thrown at a lot of Belfast teams though? There is always a lot of interchange between clubs.

Penalties suited the county board when the game doesn't draw as big a gate

If I were from Clogher (thankfully I'm not) I would be appealing the decision for penalties and be looking that game replayed and right it should

LOLOLOLOL appeal what you header, it's already in the rules that's it penalties  :-\

Quote from: paddyjohn on September 15, 2024, 11:54:20 AMThe agenda to have the south Derry/West Belfast select in the final is strong.

It's really irrelevant anyway,  it's Cargin at a canter, should basically hand them the cup now.  They'd already have one eye on Ulster, there is nothing in Antrim at the moment that can cause them any bother

Quote from: Christmas Lights on September 09, 2024, 01:25:02 PMIn Minor B championship, what clubs make up the team Na Gaeil Oga?

Lamh Dhearg + Sarsfields

Shocked at that.  Do those clubs not have stand alone minor teams?? 2 of the bigger clubs in Belfast I would have assumed as well, what's the issue there that they have a joint team at minor? I could see maybe some smaller junior clubs joining at youth but not LD and Sarfields.

Also noticed Creggan and Cargin only playing Division 2 at under 16 level, any reason for that?

We should have offered him more than Offaly to get him back ffs!! Lost opportunity imo.

Agree, just cant see St Bridgets beating Cargin in a championship game.  Its a one horse race.

Il give you that Duine  :) St John's we're awful

While it's not st John's best team it does seem like you are miles ahead of the rest.
Hard to say yet, yesterday there was a difference in fitness and footballing levels but there are definitely 2-3 teams who will mount a much tougher test

Like who? Let's be honest,  nobody is getting near Cargin,  just way way ahead of anything else in Antrim right now.  I can't honestly think or see one team that can cause Cargin any problems this championship.  It's a canter to another title for me.

Quote from: Mikhailov on July 25, 2024, 11:06:03 PMA premier league team wouldn't play that amount of games in that short a period and a county GAA team certainly wouldn't but sure who gives a f**k about the ordinary club player

Players don't mind at all,  any player would prefer to play matches. Sure they would only be training anyway if they didn't have a match.  Games need played,  the club season in Tyrone starts to late is the issue.

Quote from: Goals_Will_Come on July 25, 2024, 10:55:42 PMAnyone overlooking Dungannon as contenders for the Senior Championship would need to reconsider shortly, they put their hand up in big style tonight with that 9 Point win over Carrickmore. Paul Donaghy must be the best forward in the county, his free taking from both sides was outstanding. Paudie McNulty, Conall Devlin and the Jones' also impressive. They also seem a lot more defensively sound under Slater than they have over the previous few years.

Both teams at full strength I assume? Don't think anyone rules out Dungannon,  have been a serious outfit this past 5 years or so

Quote from: smort on July 23, 2024, 10:51:03 PMWhat's happened Beragh? Was last year a case of over achieving?
Good team. Should be top six not the bottom six. New management not even meeting the minimum expectation of Top Six.

What of the players? Maybe it's them who have dropped their standards? Maybe it's them who haven't got back up to levels of last year.  Do think they played above themselves last season as league position reflected. This is probably more a normalisation I would say,  nothing to do with the management.
