Quote from: jb77 on July 05, 2025, 06:03:34 PMI thought the reserves clinched it weeks ago, but did newbridge field a strong team today?
From speaking to my brother who was at the game Paudie and CD were  back but Callum & Conleth McGrogan and Mark & Oisin Doherty  were amongst  our absentees

How are Eamonn Young and Patrick McMullan getting on? I seen they were playing. Would hope they push on to senior level with Derry fairly soon.
Patrick has been going rightly , (has been playing  in the half forward line the  games that I have been at )Eamon has been carrying an injury niggle and hasn't been playing too much but apparently was very impressive yesterday

Quote from: Champion The Wonder Horse on July 05, 2025, 08:43:31 PMSorry to hear of Slaughtneil's Bernard (Bun) Cassidy's passing. A great guy, gone far too soon. Condolences to all the family.

Think he might be the last person to score four goals in a Derry championship match.
Would agree 100% with that, RIP Bun

I know it's the"only" the league but with beating Ballinderry today it's nice to have won our first one since 1989 ,(our reserves in a strong position to win their league as well )

The Irish Examiner Football podcast hosted by Paul Rouse is still my favourite, The Football Pod can be ok as long as Paddy Andrews give the other two a chance to talk , Second Captains is usually a decent listen (Liam Rushe & Jamie Wall in particular)

Quote from: Tony Baloney on June 29, 2025, 12:15:32 AMFor you chaps of a certain age there's a decent set by Shed Seven hidden away in the iPlayer. No word of Kneecap. The editors must be busy.
Excellent set, They released a really good album last year which got me listening to them again

Quote from: jb77 on June 21, 2025, 03:27:37 PMNewbridge are rightly motoring for a team of youngsters, maybe their golden generation. Its a pity alot of teams are conceding to the reserve team though, seems a wider problem tbf
It's definitely the worst that I can remember for the amount of division 1 reserve games being cancelled ,

Where I was at(terrace behind goals that Armagh scored into in second half ) there was  no more than a dozen Derry supporters anywhere near our vicinity

I just cannot fathom the thinking behind giving Armagh uncontested kick outs for most of the first half ,  Dan Higgins and Ryan Mulholland did well when they came on

Quote from: Captain Obvious on May 24, 2025, 05:49:38 PMDerry players, management and supporters delighted to be only 3 points behind.  A real banana skin for Armagh as I expected.
I fear we will see a different Armagh in rt second half

Derrys tactic of standing back and letting Armagh get a short kick out for most of that first half made no sense

Couldn't believe it when I heard the news last night,
