At the weekend there we seen fights in Clones ad fights on the Hill. What can we do to stop young ones congregating to matches full of Drink and drugs acting like soccer hooligans.

Every year when the draw happens it becomes clearer and clearer how the Ulster counties absolutely screwed themselves by not voting to break the link between the provincials and the All-Ireland Series.
The thing was the Ulster counties are always going to have a harder route to the All-Ireland until that link is broken. The provincial councils are likely going to do all in their not insignifcant power to keep that link at all costs for the forseeable future. Looking back it's actually a bit amazing that the option to break the link was even put to a vote.

It would be crazy to do away with the provincial championships. After the Munster Hurling Championship, the Ulster Football Championship is the most prestigious competition outside of All Irelands.

would a problem be are the clubs too bunched up in some areas?  St Pauls, Rossa, Sarsfields.  St Galls, St Johns, O'Donnells. Eire Og, St Aggies. 

Has anyone did a study of what is optimum? like in an urban environment would 10,000 people per club be the norm? appreciate it is vastly different than the country clubs where much less is expected.

Working at a high level, If Dublin has a pop of roughly 1.5m and 134 clubs that leaves it loosely at 11,000 per club.  If West Belfast has a pop of 100,000 people then 10 clubs would be the suggestion. lots of Belfast specifics to consider including spacing out the clubs.     

Lurgan has a population of 28,634; 62.2% of whom would not be hostile to the GAA. That amounts to 17,642. That allows for 4,410 per club. There are currently 3 SFC clubs including the current county champions, 1 IFC club and then two of the SFC clubs field second teams in the IFC & JFC.

Antrim have been really impressive. Honest hard work and intensity has them deservedly ahead. Keenan black card at the end is a big blow, thought he was immense in the first half. Paddy McBride with an exhibition of 2-pointers. Michael Byrne a couple of excellent saves.

From an Armagh perspective, far too pedestrian and not clinical enough. Big half needed.

Only 6 of that Armagh starting team are from senior clubs.

The most pragmatic thing to do would be to build something that's fit to host Antrim club finals and inter county games with a view to expanding when funds become available.

All quiet on here, expecting a fairly straight forward victory on Saturday. A mention to the U20s who play tonight, are they playing for pride or can they still progress?  

The club leagues underway and I don't see anyone challenging Clann Éireann this year. Provided they keep everyone available and injury free, they're still a level above the chasing pack.

I did think the new rules would really suit a team like Cross but I see they succumbed to a 5 pt home defeat on Sunday!

The players acted against the expressed will of the GAA but will face zero repercussions for their actions.

Fools yes but not proper Gaels?  We know nothing about the personal circumstances of any one involved. Also I'm not sure there's a criteria to be a "proper" Gael.
