Im guessing that if for example Kildare are +5.5 at Tyrone, it means that if they are beaten by a score less than 6 points, and you pick kildare, youve won the spread. The .5 is the bookmakers way of f**king you as +5.5 looks a little better than +6. It is kind of confusing to be putting the points up for the underdog, I would have thought it would be the favourite i.e. Tyrone -5.5 - thus making it obvious that Tyrone need to win by 6 points to "cover the spread".

How does this work? Could someone explain it?

for example
03 Feb 14:30 Monaghan vs Roscommon  (Roscommon + 4.5)

rather than just have straight bets which would be too easy the score is evened up by giving the percieved inferior side a handicap start. We dont want draws to be included hence the half points. So if you think Monaghan will win by 4 points then you pick Roscommon with the 4.5 point start, if you think Monaghan will win by 5 thereby negating the handicap start then you select monaghan.

Lads - Sorry I haven't been around in a while - been flat out at work and didnt want to look at a pc in the eve. I'm currently trying to get the site up and running by Thurs at the latest. If not then Maddog is free to go ahead. I'll post back tomorrow.

My main concern at the mo is trying to get the domain back - then I'll hopefully get the site back up and running. --> I do plan to give it a major overhaul by summer time though - if i get the time

The domain has failed to be renewed as it is now in a redemption period. As the invoice was settled late the 30 day domain renewal window was missed. The domain name
can now be renewed for $160!.

I now have to wait for it to be deleted - result no gaaspreads for the league.

No bother Dicky, ya gave it good effort for a long time for little reward so fair play anyway.

Maybe the mods could give the spreads its own section though if its just going to be run on the board?

That's a good idea. Initially the Spreads competition was a thread of it's own each week. I'll have a chat with admin, and we'll see can we open up a temporary forum for Spreads, with each week a seperate thread.
