Yew tree how does the season run in to long?
Starts in April and finishes the first week in October?
6 months is to long is it? Do you want a 4 month season?
Pisses me off when I hear that crap that the season is to long. Lazy

A lot of club players out on the pitch first week of January preseason training and then the leagues start in April. If they're half successful then the season runs at least until mid September.

I couldn't help think what would Joe say were it someone else.

You can forget about Joe Brolly as a man I think he'd say.  :D

Do you spend your life devoted to changing peoples lives through organ donation campaigning? He may be a bit of a hypocrite but this comment isn't fair on him tbf

Anybody stand out today for Gallagher to have a look at? Would have to say McKinless was very very good. Gavin Oneill?

There's the football over for 11 weeks now - pure crap
A great win for the Quigan yesterday.i don't want to talk us up again but we're cruising along nicely. Glen have started well.  Bellaghy getting closer to the drop.

Yea very happy with the win after sub standard performances v the bridge and forgelen. Division 1b very tight, most games within a few points and everyone beating everyone else, good viewing! Senior division games likewise. How many points to stay up do yous think?

Our game was very competitive with Tiarnan Mc Hugh making a big impact from the bench for Drumsurn (not sure why he didn't start). We didn't really get going until the second half, playing with 14 men. It took a few monster scores towards the end to get us over the line and we were happy enough to hear the final whistle!

3271 hungry, deprived Gaa Football supporters in the south derry club of Bellaghy today for a school Game. 570 in Celtic park last week for a county double header.
Who won?
Managers win games. The convent had less quality but had a gameplan. St Patricks, with an array of talent had 1 tactic-the Mc Williams.

Sorry can't agree with you here. Yes st pats may have the big name forwards but st marys defence sussed them out and st pats defence and goalkeeper were very poor.St Mary's are also littered with serious footballers, including many from Antrim.

Got to feel sorry for the cattle around Slaughtneil, the poor f**kers never get milked!

Congrats to the Emmetts, stronger than last years team?

I'm as impressed at slaughtneils achievement as anyone is but if you call slaughtneil a small club then you are deluded

Derry would probably be ourselves, Ballymaguigan. Part of the newbridge Parish with only a square mile to pick from. One primary school with about 90-100 students. Depend a wee but on relatives and friends of players coming in to play. Punch above our weight with numerous intermediate titles and 1 senior one. Apart from that you would have maybe Ogra Colmcille or Drum or Glack

I hadn't thought of that, that is also a very real possibility. O'kane is a good player, but hasn't played that much this year for the county. He'd be a leader and an experienced head in that half back line and central part of the pitch. That could be important on
Saturday for a relatively inexperienced Derry team.

Is be expecting a similar team that lined out against Cavan, but with Rodgers unavailable it might mean that Bradley gets the nod at midfield.

Mallon
Mckinless.
Mckaige.
Mckaige.
Mcfaul.
Mcatamney.
Mullan
Holly
Bradley
Heaven
Bradley
Toner
Kielt
Lynch
Mcguckin

Would be an option or else perhaps we could see lynch going CHB like he played a couple of seasons back with the midfield staying the same and Loughlin starting? Will be interesting to see when the team is announced. Gutted that I won't be able to get to this one, but will be keeping a very close eye

Thought I'd get the discussion going. Derry have done well so far since the Tyrone embarrassment and It's a great chance for us to get to a first quarter final in 9 years, but Tipperary will be no pushovers. PP have Derry as short as 1/2 to win, which I think is ridiculous and Tipp at 11/5 might be worth a tenner or 2.

Does this mean Derry play Longford and Cavan play Kildare in the AIQF?

I think the winners of this play the losers of Ulster or Connaught finals for a place in the AIQF. Anyhow, this should be an interesting tie with both teams confident of victory, if Derry play to their potential and maintain their recent defensive strategy I can see them winning this one. We will need skinner and mark lynch to lift their games as they haven't quite played as well as we would've liked as yet this year. Hopefully Oboyle can play as he played against Wexford as he was spectacular and was always capable. I'll hopefully make it down to this one, been a long time since we've toured down the country for a championship game, I'd expect us to line up as per the Wexford game, looking forward to it!
