Only thing it will matter for is judges really. I highly doubt if the House, who will be focused on Hunter Biden's laptop and the like, will pass anything up that the Dems would be interested in putting through, but we'll see.

Both of them are up for reelection next time out. Manchin, in particular, if he's running again, will need to be able to opt out on certain things. The extra vote gives the Dems the room to accommodate him.

US politics are polarised again. The rich don't want any change. This will prevail until the pitchforks. A lot of pro plutocrat policies such as healthcare, Israel, trans and prisons will suddenly be abandoned. Last time the power was with Tammany Hall and the Klan, running culture wars. They never rose again.

Some serious miserable bastards on this thread.  A young woman who did nothing wrong was held as a captive for almost a year in a Russian prison, will now be coming home. 

But for some people, that's apparently bad news and reflects poorly on Biden.

The price was high, but if that's the best deal available, then so be it.

I'm guessing had Trump done this the reaction from our right-wing posters would be different.
