QuoteWas this a sudden death or was he ill. COmedy genius

He had a bad accident a few years ago
]

Quad accident and made a full recovery tho so unlikely to be related you'd think?   Awful news.  Followed him from Young Ones right through his career.   A comedy genius who making the zany, opinionated,  angry,  character all his own.

Would have been a brilliant Peter Robinson if the comedy show at Stormont ever became a series!  :)
It might not be unrelated. His missus has reportedly said that it may have been an epileptic seizure. Assume he has had seizures since the brain injury from the quad bike accident.

Loved him in 'Bottom'.

Same here. A lot of people hated that show but the madness was brilliant.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Essential viewing for fellas of our vintage. Must have been early 90s.

Capt Pat

A very funny man. Sad to see him go so young at 56.

The papers are saying the cause of death is a mystery.

Absolutely, I was a big fan too - always loved the cameos from Spudgun and Dave Hedgehog! Very sad news today. RIP

No disrespect to the dead but honestly have never heard of this lad before in my life. That cameo at Blackadder's wedding was the only time I seen him on the screens.

Where have you been, tman?

Anyone who didn't get 'Bottom' doesn't understand comedy. It was slapstick, witty, subtle, and sometimes downright stupid.
The physical aspect brought it to another level. No-one could pull a face like Richie Richard.

AQMP

I was a fan of "Filthy, Rich and Catflap" a one-off series from the mid 80s.

Billys Boots

I remember Kevin Turvey, god help us.  Still liked 'The Young Ones' the best - remember that my Da really, really hated it.

My dad hated it also. It was one of my favourite shows. I had to argue to be allowed to watch it.

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

I remember Kevin Turvey and a Kick up the eighties, Richard Stillnotdead was in that too IIRC.
