I'd imagine Ballyroan are fairly disappointed. The first day out I think they had to play with 14 players because their minors were playing in the county final. Now they only lost to Courtwood by a point.

I'd expect Courtwood to beat O'Dempsey's. The other semi could be a good game. I'll go with Portlaoise to edge it.

Why does everyone call them Courtwood ?😂😂😂 it's courtwood/Emo . Is there some Emo lads not commiting or what ?

That's the semi final line up.

Hopefully a few of last year's older U-20's step up and prove they belong at this level. Robert Tyrell and Eoin Dunne will hopefully bring freshness to an area that Laois have struggled with in recent times, at midfield.

Diarmuid Whelan had a great year with the U-20's last year as well and has physically bulked up. A full-forward line of Whelan, O'Carroll and Murphy could be interesting to see in action.

No idea who will or won't commit but we need to find some decent defenders. Corner backs in particular. I can see Saunders and O'Flynn playing if committed. Maybe Lacey of Ballylinan too.
Up front Whelan looks the part and maybe Kinsella and Barry will figure too.

RE should win. Bit of infighting in the Rynagh's camp, coupled with Diarmuid Horan gone back out foreign. He made an impact in the final and semi for them from the bench.

Gary Comerford from stradbally is a very stylish footballer.  If he committs to the GAA next year it will be a big boost to stradbally .

The hurling final often seems to get a better crowd that the football.

Nearly always. There's always a real sense of occasion about the hurling finals. And playing the senior B final as a curtain raiser is a big factor too. The minor A final is the football curtain raiser and wouldn't draw the same crowd.

I think  based on the new rule changes, I am right in saying that we need to find a big target man.

Just looking at the teams in it we haven't a whole lot to be afraid of. Most of them teams would be of a similar standard to ourselves and we have beaten most of them in different competitions over the past 3or 4 years. Can't see us being relegated anyway

I dunno. I think what might have been the more "winnable" games are away. Can't see us getting anything in The Hyde so a home win v Armagh will be vital.

That sums you up. No matter how badly my club play I always take pleasure in them winning. You obviously have no idea of the type of sacrifice that every player and club puts in to entertain the likes of you.

Thought we'd established that town1980 is from some shithole like Athy? f**king slagging off the best club team the county has ever seen. Fair enough, they are coming back to the field a bit but I thought they were a good bit the better team yesterday.

Agreed. Super game. O'Flynn and Hosey are a brilliant couple of forwards.

Portlaoise were missing their few senior lads because of next week and they would have surely made a difference. Still a good win for O'Dempsey's who wouldn't be strong underage.

Portarlington will be the big favourites for this I'd imagine.

Just shows the value of this championship. I suppose it's better than last years under 19 when Portlaoise didn't field at all and the final wasn't ever played..
