It is only a few months ago since the Meath County Board tried to remove the Manager they appointed for two years Banty.
Who were they proposing to replace him?Sean Boylan
If they felt then, that was for the better for Meath Football ,how can they propose anybody other than Sean Boylan!!!!

Brendan Melia was sub goalie for Meath in centenary year 1984 when they won defeating Monaghan.
He recently played in goals  for Moynalvey against Carnaross.
Surely he qualifies as a special when he comes to an ex- county player still playing.

Quotewe're now stuck with Banty AND Barney

Barney's 5 year tenure as chairman is up this year but I haven't heard who he's lined up to succeed him
As recently caught on camera The Royals entering The Palace

Orla has the look of a Meath woman I think.
Ay good looking and always up for it.
Obviously better than the Ulster Ladies.
Seeing as Banty wants to stay in Meath.
Everything is Hunky Dory with us.
Shor isnt the ex crisp man Graham Gs hat in the ring for another year.??

Yes plenty of debate about the legit goal and the sending to the line of Brian Farrell.
Also many other basic mistakes on the field that should not happen at inter county level.
The reality is we are lucky not to be in division three of the national league.
Meath have beaten one team of note in the last year Dublin in the championship.
The rest do not county this year  last year or indeed for many years when it comes to the honours list.
However a much improved effort from a team that is lucky to be in division two .

I think I can speak for everyone in Cavan when I say how upset we are to see this Meath team with a Monaghan manager doing so poorly :D
Some things never change ???

I first met Michaela at Dromantine, Society of African Missions Summer camp.   On one of the first nights of camp, unbeknown to the Priests, all the lads were playing a card game called Maverick whereby each player is given two cards and then they bet that the next card they are dealt will be inbetween (in terms of value) the cards they already have, any lost bets went to the pot. It wasn't long before the pot got out of control and there was a serious amount of cash on the table.  I ended up winning the pot and what made victory the more sweet at the time for me, as a Derry man, was that the main contributor to the pot was a Tyrone man. But unfortunately for me he was also an Errigal Ciaran man. It wasn't long before Michaela approached me, asking me to give the lad back his money.  My initial reaction was "But I won it fair and square",  within one minute Michaela had me convinced that the right thing to do was offer this lad back his money and I did.  He wouldn't take it back no matter how many times i offered.  Looking back on that now, I have no doubt that Michaela played a vital part in all of Tyrone's All Ireland successes. It's no secret the level of support that she provided her dad down through the years but she also was a reassuring presence for the players, looking out for them and helping instil belief and confidence where required.  I didn't know her all that well but anytime I saw her out in Belfast years after that card game, she would always have a smile and a hello for you.  You couldn't have met a more genuine and down to earth girl.  You will be missed Michaela, it's hard to think that you are no longer with us. Thought and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. RIP
Lovely story about a lady that any father would be very proud of. Lets all say a prayer for both families.

Remind them when they come knocking on your door,if elected ,that they will now have as much power in the Dail as a county councillor has currently.
