The Mary Wallopers play in a friends pub in Dundalk on a Wednesday night, or they did before the lockdown, but they've played a few gigs online over the last few weeks online and it's been great craic. They're quare characters and if you can donate a few quid to any of your local bands or buy a t-shirt or some merchandise it will make a big difference to them, they're all struggling at the minute.

Cod Liver Oil and the Orange Juice.

I love the dark red.
Glad to see Nike sticking with it.
Nice shirt overall, even if the early 90s are not exactly worthy of commemoration!

The official Nike kit hasn't been released yet, they are all mock ups.

For obvious reasons I like the 05 kit, which was bright red.

Though there was a really nice deep red adidas kit with the high V neck back in the 90s

Still got that one, though I doubt it would fit me.   ;D

I don't like the darker shade of red that we have been using over the last number of years, I prefer the more vibrant red of the older kits, like the adidas jersey above.

Same with the Down jersey, it's too dark.

It will be a right kick in the teeth for the most loyal supporters if there isn't some recompense in the event of no further games in 2020.
Least they could do is give a Credit for renewals if no refunds.

We've had great value over the last 12 years, on the odd occasion we weren't able to make it to a game, the tickets were always used by friends and family. We've got free entry into other county games and club finals that we probably wouldn't otherwise have attended. We won't be looking for a refund.

The figures will all come out properly at the end, this isn't China or Russia or North Korea. As bad as the Brits have been you can't hide this

They'll find a way, they always do. Then there will be an enquiry and the British public will be told lessons have been learned, etc, etc. By the time the full story emerges we'll have moved on to the next scandal and cover up. We've been here before unfortunately.

The table @Hound put up earlier is interesting. Our rate of deaths is not brilliant by any means. Although some of the poorer nations may not be recording covid deaths as accurately.

Does anyone really believe that China had only 3000 odd deaths?

They've given the world this virus, wether intentionally or not and now we are paying them €Billions for dodgy PPE.

They've started a war without firing a shot. I'll never eat another three in one again.

Things are running pretty smoothly down here, I can't see any reason for complaints. There is an increased Garda presence and more checkpoints, but by and large people are abiding by the rules and acting responsibly.

Something Happens. Listening to 'Stuck Together With God's Glue'. Has to be one of the best ever albums by an Irish band.

There's a girl in a dress in a sinful mess
With a face just made for kissing
What kind of god gives you a rod
And say's you can't go fishing

There was a bit of a golden age of Irish bands around that time, they got a lot of airplay on 2FM. Cry Before Dawn, The Golden Horde, The Adventures, etc..

Do Irish bands still get priority on 2FM?

Definitely a golden age for Irish bands, I was listening to Cry Before Dawn earlier on youtube, their algorithms brought me to Something Happens, brings back a lot of great memories from the late 80s and early 90s.

Not sure what 2FM's position is on Irish bands, I know they used to play something like 25% Irish music back in the day. Dave Fanning was a great man for playing up and coming local bands.

Power of Dreams, Immigrints, Emmigrants and Me is next up.

Australia & NZ looking to have things really well under control - interestingly construction & manufacturing both still open in Oz

It could be a seasonal thing, Oz and NZ are both at the end of their summer/going into autumn, unfortunately we don't know enough about this virus yet.

Lorry driver Maurice Robinson (25) from Craigavon in Co Armagh, has pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey in London to the manslaughter of 39 people who were found dead in a refrigerated truck in Essex.

Robinson is one of five men due to appear in court over the deaths of 39 Vietnamese people in October.

He had already pleaded guilty to conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration and acquiring criminal property at the same court on Monday November 25. His outstanding charges include transferring criminal property and conspiracy to commit a human trafficking offence.
