Since you brought it up, My understanding is that McIlroy was not from a "mixed marriage". To understand McIlroy you have to put it into demographic context. There are several thousand "Catholics " in North Down, but only 1 GAA club, which was vandalised several times. There is no catholic grammar in Bangor/Holywood, so many Catholics attended the local state grammar schools. An elite sportsman such as McIlroy would presumably have been a popular student in Sullivan his local grammar, and like most Catholics in middle class North Down , suffered little discrimination and assimilated into the British/NI culture. Most of his childhood friends would come from that "NI" background, that's what he knows and he's obviously comfortable with . Who knows , but if was born ~20 miles down the road, like fellow North Down elite athlete, Ciara mageean , he may have wielded a hurl, and been more bought into Ireland as opposed to NI.
The point I'm making is that we are all a product of our environment and that should be respected . I'd love it Rory was waving the tricolour on the podium , but that's not what he's comfortable with and I respect that. I'm just happy to savour a local lad , top of the world. He seems well grounded, and not afraid to speak his mind. He's committed to brilliant charity work, transforming lives, and he's loyal to his friends from childhood etc despite his jet set lifestyle . Can't wait to see him win another major and move from second back up to first in world rankings. Incredible talent.

Dalton Entrance can be easily accessed from all sides of the ground.

If parking in town, go down towards the ground along the Ring Road or via Irish Street (and under the flyover), and go down past McAnerneys Supermarket car park, and go to the end of the Stand.

If parking as coming from the South (Newtownhamilton, Keady or Monaghan Roads), there is pedestrian access along the Monaghan Road, about 100 yards from the Keady / Monaghan Road junction, which takes you directly into the Dalton End.

If parking on the Killylea Road side of the ground, you can go in the main entrance to the Drumarg estate, and walk through the estate to get to the far (Dalton) end of the ground.

And neither would you unless you were within 5/10 metres of it.

Don't let it get to you, move on and tell your young lad not to speak to the referee, any referee, just set the ball down and get back into position.

There's only one winner when players start the verbals with a referee and that's the man with the whistle.

I'm quite happy these incidents don't get mentioned, then you have a situation where a guy can get lambasted but the reporter may not have seen the incident as per the ref's view, and he will certainly not have any access to the referee's report. KH will not have a clue about what the referee has put the guy in for, it might be rough play and a 2nd yellow, but the report might say something completely different.
I refereed LD last week, issued 2 straight reds, KH was there. I'm glad they weren't mentioned because it was a juvenile match, I wouldn't want a kid to read something bad about himself, especially as the reporter, any reporter, might say something different from what actually occurred.

True, what I meant though was don't get into the particulars of an incident, and just mention "Player X was sent off". It's the "innocent until proven guilty" angle not the "guilty and wrong thing mentioned or wrong perspective put on it" I don't want. And ideally not mentioned at all in juvenile games. We don't know what's going on behind scenes on in kids heads these days.
And for the record, mine was an exceptional circumstance

Only 1 man can answer this, and given that the guy gives his time FOC, I don't think this is something to get hung up on.
