Going to be in San Fran in a couple of weeks of time when the giants play the cubs. What's best way to get tickets for this? Cheers

Do the Giants sell out lads? Baseballs long season usually means that there are some tickets available for every game except maybe some of the big rivalries like the Red Sox v Yankees, Cubs and Cardinals etc. I know the Cubbies will be a big draw, with the ex-pats from Chicago, but I'd imagine you'd get tickets at the Giants' website - http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/ticketing/index.jsp?c_id=sf

The Giants are playing fairly poor so far this year as well - so I don't think tickets will be hard to get.

Stubhub is the way to go. Here's a link...

There is over 5000 tickets left for all 3 games but probably should purchase now. Unfortunately they are on an awful run at the minute but Gab Hurl said it will make it easier for you.

Does stub hub not charge a premium? i.e. are they not just a glorified touting agency? And if so, why not just buy direct from the Giants?

TBH I don't know if they charge a premium. The wife's cousin always (only been twice) buys us the tickets through stubhub.

I just went through both modes and for roughly the same seats (reserve outfield) stubhub is $27.50 and on Giants site its $54!

Interesting. I listen to a lot of US sports radio, and Stub Hub is definitely a business. Their ads are all over the radio. But if that's the case, then they have to be charging a premium on the price to make money. Don't know how to square that with being cheaper than the Giants though!

I've bought off StubHub before no bother - it's owned by eBay now.

Bought tickets for Vanderbilt/Gerogia and Titans/49ers games with them for the weekend in October when I'm in Nashville.

A Giants game will sell out if something big's going on, like someone's about to break a home run record or if they've made it to the latter stages of the competition or the World Series itself.  But ordinarily you can roll up a few innings into the game and there'll be plenty of seats left.
