At least as important a factor, though, was the consensus sentiment that football needed help. For all that we had a great championship with unexpected winners, there is a crisis for the GAA in the collapse of attendance, especially in Leinster and an improved game may not be a comprehensive response. But it will be a start.

I'm not sure that any change in the rules will help the Leinster championship.

The new rules are gonna lead to some hammerings again. Dublin will still walk Leinster thumping teams as they go.

I'd love to know how the percentages to pass everything were so high. Take even here as a straw poll, majority against most of the proposals with very valid issues and reasons why - which surely anyone who gives any thought to the implications of the rules should be able to see.

If these new rules are given the go ahead, when do they come in to club football? Will it just be from the start of 2025?

Enda McGinley for the Derry job? Was it mentioned that they had their man but he was still involved with his club in championship a while back?
