i keep coming back to the players - the current crop! we definitely have something with the players. getting them all out with a full pre-season behind them and injury free and can beat the best.

It's serious commitment, 3 nights a week, your own S&C on your days off, game at the weekend or away for the weekend, no breaks in the year, still doing your bit with club when you can and its not as good as it sounds.

I'm not surprised that there are drop outs, or breaks in training and no surprises that they have injuries, some toll on the body, but we lack quality depth which when you look at some of the games lately the lads coming on to some county teams as subs have some impact.

Whether we can beat the best is debatable, certainly in one off league games or Championship games at Corrigan we can be competitive but being consistent needs crops of players coming through every year, otherwise, which has been happening for a few years, we burn out that squad, they all retire around the same time and we play the Christy Ring for a year or two!

I'd say closer to 5 nights in reality, which when you think of it is crazy.

I don't know any other industry where you would have people making decisions on acquisitions who aren't experts in that given field. So sneer at the football people comment all you want, its a basic short hand for people making decisions about which they have experience and expertise in. But I'm guessing you know that already.

It isn't about one man either, it is about getting a structure in place that can make strategic footballing decisions that are not manager dependent, to prevent the club ending up in the position they currently are with a mish mash of players from 5 different managers.

In a proper structure which INEOS are attempting to put in place, this wouldn't be allowed to happen.

Lynch has generally been quiet since the injury. Understandable given the severity of it, but surprised he's kept his place this long while being so far off his exceptional standards.

Kyle Hayes finally on the receiving end of a bit of discipline. If the judiciary can't do it, the refs will have to step up!

Lynch getting caught on the ball more and more, maybe it has been lack of game time or whether the injuries have caught up with him a bit.

He is a huge cog in the machine and if teams can get to him then they can get a foothold in the games.

That was all revenue generated by Man Utd PLC.

True, but as owners they could have used the cash reserves to pay themselves dividends so it is their money. I dont disagree that they have been shocking owners but it is a case of spending money badly rather than not spending it.

Its the risks of being a plc as United was, there are benefits in terms of access to cash to invest and grow but you are vulnerable to an unwanted owner coming in.

That's the exact point they were paying themselves the dividends at the same time. So instead of redeveloping the stadium and training facilities alongside investing in the playing squad, they choose one.

The money has been invested badly in the playing squad but that comes from not having top quality football people making those calls, you had Ed Woodward with his finance background and no discernible footballing decision making structure.

But they dont care as long as the club keeps making money for them. 

Really but not again wholly unexpected unfortunately.

That's the thing about strategic reviews, they are dependent on who is writing them and who is reading them. Here's my strategic review, we still haven't upped our game at inter county under age level.

Do you think we (antrim players) prefer the club over the county? Because, even at underage, the best players are still not all involved, and that's not down to the mentors

That is a huge issue but a lot of that comes down to the environment, if our development squads are really top quality places to be involved in and be around then kids will go to them and parents will buy in.

If we continue paying lip service to them then we will continue to get the current levels of interest.

To be fair they have improved but there is still a long way to go.

FFS, the commentators last night and now the English press going full bullshit mode on Tuchel for taking Kane off and that being the change in fortunes for Bayern...

Now I didn't see most of the game so maybe Kane was having a stormer, but the game turned on Neurer fumbling the ball, nothing more, nothing less.

He holds onto that ball, Bayern hold out and alls well with the British press.

All the big chat from the English TV and press about this being about the two English guys, both were pretty anonymous throughout. Kane had one great pass which set the goal up, but his lack of pace at this level exposed when he couldn't get on the end of two good through balls.

Bellingham the same, quiet in Germany in the first leg and quiet again last night.

Hit the post 6 times in that game alone I think.

No love for them at all as a club, but some nights it just was never going to be.

The fact that Bonnar Maher is even still around the squad shows the problems are much deeper for Tipp.

Was a quality player in his day but that was a few seasons ago.

Shambles last night and I think that will spell the end for ETH.

He was probably close to the exit anyway but dont see any way back for him now, I still would be prepared to give him time but I don't think many others will.

McT is home grown so he transfer is pure profit and would help against the PSR regulations if they are getting tight.

No chance of off-loading Athony this season, so they are stuck with him for a bit.

Sancho and Greenwood are more likely to head for the exit.
