Not a bad choice in fairness, he done well with Antrim and left them better than he found them. Hopefully all players commit and that the hunger from losing the JMD final spurs our lads on to make amends for that. The 2025 make up of the JMD group should make us favourites with Carlow regressing a bit, Westmeath and Kerry appear to be slipping again. Not saying we'll walk it, but with a strong effort we could realistically win it out and face third placed Leinster next year in the preliminary QFs... wonder could that be Antrim under Davy?

Lazy appointment? Who else could we have realistically got to take us, in your opinion?

Super appointment imo. Gleeson would have learned his trade from his All Ireland winning clubmate. He done brilliant work with Antrim.

Best of Luck to him & Laois .
Management at county level & club level a bit like musical chairs at times, nice to see fresh faces coming on the scene but its easier said than done. Get back to the Joe Mac Final & competitive league vital.

If I'm wrong , that I'll be delighted to be!

I don't like the man. That definitely clouds my judgement.

Lazy in the sense that once he became available was there any form of a search at all?

So who would you get . He's an experienced intercounty manager who was relatively successful in his last post at a level above where we are at the moment. There was an invitation for applications for the job and I don't think that too many broke down the door of the county board offices. If he wins the Joe MC and consolidates our league position then he's a success. Is he a step above Willie Maher?? I think so and there wasn't a huge clamour to get him out. We're second tier at the moment so I think his appointment is excellent

Laois man

Any update on who's Gleeson is bringing in with him? Hope there's a few laois men involved.

Do you seriously think that InterCounty senior jobs are filled by application?

Laois man

Any update on who Gleeson is bringing in with him?

Blow-in

I'm hearing it is the same coaches and selectors from last year. Disappointing if that is true in my opinion. But that's just my thoughts.

Laois man

Surely Gleeson will bring in his own backroom team.

He is maybe still putting it together, as his backroom team in Antrim were Antrim based
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Agreed , freshen things up and maybe bring in one person from outside both Tipp & Laois as coach & 2 new Laois men involved as selectors to start, maybe 1 with a coaching background also.
Any mention of players finishing or will that be more so hinted after Club Championship

I know Sean Flynn was liked by the players and Jackman is a good hurling coach too. I think that bit of continuity is good. Its all about the players really hopefully they come back. Bar willie dunphy and maybe Ross who have given a lot over their careers, the rest of the panel all have something to add and the joe mcdonagh is well within their capabilities.

Laois man

Mossy Keyes is heading to America after Christmas Ryan Mullaney gone travelling aswell. Cha is back home for how long I don't know.
