GAA Discussion / Re: East Belfast GAA

I really think that was completely innocent.

There is a large effort to tarnish the Gaa which from what I can see is just an agenda to detract from the orange order and to normalise it saying the other side do this too.

The people who do this have nothing positive to offer society and thrive on division. They should not be given a voice in the media.

I said it before.

There's a concerted effort against anything Irish in general society, all driven by Bryson and his cohorts.

Bryson picks a topic and then there's a pile on by the DUP and TUV etc. A pattern.

Bryson is dictating and driving the agenda.

Eg. he's gone after nationalist parties, then academics, business people, Irish language and now, it's the GAA.

This is a campaign.

But it is the people who disagree with him that are giving him the oxygen he needs to survive and stay relevant.

He thrives on the attention which leads to newspaper columns/TV appearances etc

Anyone who interacts with him on Twitter have to take responsibility for part of this

167 has no mandate.

The issue is that people give him oxygen by interacting & engaging with him.

While people think they are funny by responding to him/calling him out they are in effect part of the problem.

So at the moment he is going after the GAA - this is gaining traction because of the furor he is causing and people coming back at him.

If his ramblings got no attention then he would drift into obscurity.

Yep - something to keep the interest going

1. City bought Haaland just so no one else can have him
2. £100m man Grealish not getting a look in, he's top class but Pep can't make it work, shambles
3. Pep doesn't like big personalities, Haaland will be his new Zlatan
4. Boring as fvck cheating ba$tards

Yeah I think being exciting and not winning the league is far better

19 teams won't win the league, a bit of sporting integrity wouldn't go amiss

Pep's dilemma was Haaland playing for Madrid, Bayern, Chelsea, other was going to make their challenge for the CL more difficult, so he bought the brute to save himself the hassle

I'd rather be a Liverpool supporter and come second than be a Man City fan and win the lot, the league itself is compromised due to financial doping as you know

I'd rather be a Man City supporter and come second than be a Liverpool fan and win the lot, the league itself is compromised due to Liverpool players all having asthma as you know

Lads, it's all about me these days.

The big jeeps with the personalised plates and the big gated houses in the country!

Two or three holidays a year etc.

How times have changed.   Have people changed?

Unfortunately I am not part of that crew however what is wrong with it?

If people have made good for themselves and are able to afford all of the above then I dont see the issue.

Is it typical Irish begrudgery

Nail him all you like for his 'punditry' or how you view him as a person.

But anyone questioning his ball playing ability is talking through their arse

No luck ready to lose again.

Tickets for the Packers game sold out in no time - reselling sites had them up before I even got to 50,000 in the queue  >:(

Congrats Farr.

Thanks to Mod5 for running

As good as Walsh was today - and he was surreally brilliant, maybe among the top 5 AI final performances Iíve ever seen - if anyone describes his performance as streets ahead of Clifford, itís only because theyíre marking Clifford by a different criteria.

The difference between the teams was David Clifford. Itís not more complicated than that. He was outstanding.
Agree with that. Both exceptional performances, but for Clifford it was maybe 15% better than what we normally see, for Walsh it was significantly more, 75%??
I would also agree that I think both, especially Clifford ran out of juice a bit before the end. He very noticeably not busting a gut to get back up front on a few occasions in the last 15 - hardly surprising given the disrupted preparation he must have had.

Darragh Maloney and Kevin McStay on the commentary for this All Ireland final.

Sky commentary it is then

Truss now the bookies favourite. She is a mental bitch but ultimately she will unintentionally speed up the arrival of a border poll.

Truss is the one i least wanted to see get in.

If you live in the north, this is as bad as it gets.

She is using the ERG vote to become PM. I don't believe she totally shares their views but it's all a means to an end. If PM I'd expect her to be pragmatic and more liberal than comes across now, she was a remainer after all. However despite who wins a general election can't come quick enough.

Will a General Election make any sort of difference though?

Wee Johnny englander will vote for whoever the red tops tell him to vote for

Kerry deserving victors but wouldnt have it as good as Galway/Armagh game.

Kerry very defensive in the first half - 12/13 players behind the ball which Dublin found very difficult to break down

Comerfords time wasting and shaking the goal posts was deplorable.

Hardly any point giving black cards out now given the lack of play during those 10mins for teams

O'Shea was well entitled to go for the rebound - but he definitely left the boot in to connect with Comerford - could have easily avoided him

Clifford is a genius but his fitness levels have to be questioned - has to be carrying a knock as he completely went out of the game in the second half - even when he had chances he couldnt convert them

McCarthy was immense for the Dubs - a real leader

Glass was at fault for the second goal. Not the keeper
