Apologies for the non GAA thread but fair play this lad.
I'm not much of a boxing fan but it's great for Laois to have a world champion.
I know there's 4 or 5 different world champions (weird) but fair play all the same. He could make a nice few quid out of this.

It's amazing the fascination people from outside the area have with us. We play together underage. Between the two clubs, we have been in county final 7 of the last 15. We were in none when we played together!

A morbid fascination more like. All those brilliant players and one senior title to show for it. And nothing for Beano, Donie B and the Killeen crew.

Joseph's seem to be down a few players - Jason and Kevin Campion, James Doyle, Danny and Paddy Hickey.
Anyone know if any of them will be back for the later rounds? Could they trouble Portlaoise?

Ok this joke is over . Looking at Killeen’s two matches so far it’s time to join up . Someone down there needs to grow some balls and get it done before the players are on walking sticks and in nursing homes.
Killeen have only around 4 lads under 30 starting. Mental stuff. The 2 kingstons, Joe Mulhare around 29 and maybe Brendan oshea

Looking like this is panning out as expected.
Annanough, P/R and Kilcavan all comfortably into last eight.
Surprised Port are gone. Is there a second team that can challenge the three favourites? Maybe Graigue if they get the junior C over and done with. B Abbey seem to be decent too and Portlaoise third team could be anything.

Was in Ratheniska last night.
Much improved Portlaoise. Brought in the 2 Rafters and Staunton and looked a different animal. No sign of Woolly or Kevin Fitzpatrick. They could have a say yet despite what I saw in round one.
Adrian Kelly very good at midfield. Downey good and last year's minors Mick Dowling and Maher very good.
Woolie is out for 6-8 week by his own admission. Was Rafter the fella who who Portlaoise went to the DRA for?
Is that what's known as a rhetorical question?😉

Beggan is better than Cluxton.
Brody > Beggan > Cluxton

Jesus if no team is fit to relegate this Clonaslee side they should f**k off down to junior with themselves.
Survival is their speciality. They are experts at it.
What Annanough are getting out of this arrangement is beyond me. Baffling.

Watch out for Rosenallis . They beat Courtwood last year in the championship and have already given Portlaoise intermediates a big beating in the championship this year . Themselves , Courtwood and Mountmellick are the candidates this year . Timahoe look past it at this stage and The Rock , Barrowhouse and Joseph’s intermediates are also off the pace. Three horse race I think .
The Rock won't fear Rosenallis. They mightnt be as good as them but they will get stuck into them. Rosenallis should win though. Mountmellick will beat Barrowhouse handily.
Joseph's v Portlaoise I've no idea. Maybe Joseph's. Portlaoise have their eye on the junior A it seems.

I'd like peoples opinion on our best referees in the county. Football & Hurling if you like. I see more football than hurling.

My top 5 in football would be

1. Maurice Deegan
2. Eddie Kinsella
3. Brendan McCann
4. David Moore
5. Clifford Ward
Wouldn't argue too much with that. McCann is excellent really. There's a Tom Kennedy refereeing and I like what I've seen from him so far. Think he's the ex Killeshin player.

Interesting first round, some serious big scores put up by second teams. Here are next round of fixtures:
06/08/2018
18:00   Errill   vs Camross
07/08/2018
19:30   Kilcavan vs Baile Uí Laigheanáin
09/08/2018
19:15   Annanough vs Graiguecullen
19:15   Portlaoise vs Ballyroan Abbey
19:15   Stradbally vs Killeshin
10/08/2018
19:15   Spink vs O'Dempseys
19:15   The Heath vs Portarlington
Expect your lads to take care of Ballylinan Joey.
Annanough should be the team to beat although you'd never know what Graigue might have.
Surprised that Port and The Heath are playing for survival but whoever wins it could go well yet.

There was a time when losing to Carlow and Wicklow at underage level would have been unthinkable. But now, apparently, its acceptable.
You do understand the term "wum"?  :)
