Well Men Time to make a few Predictions!!!

Who do Yous think will win the big games at the weekend.

Glenullin V St Galls     Glenullin

Dromore V Cross       Dromore

Newbridge V Dunloy  Newbridge

Im gonna go for Glenullin in the first game. Firstly because i just feel that the more open football St galls play will suit Glenullin as will the open spaces in Omagh, although that may also suit St Galls. I think that they will have to be at their best and be more efficent with their shooting to overcome what is gonna be a formidable challenge but Glenullin seem to have a certain momentum and resilience about them now.  Also im a Derry man and i never said i wasnt biased.

I fany Dromore to beat Cross as they look a realy good side and if Colm Mc cullagh plays they will have 3 very effective outlets for scores up front with the two corner forward looking very good the last day. ive seen Cross a couple of times this year and havent eally been that impressed with them. Although it has to be said they have an uncanny knack of playing just well enough to win the game. Donnaldson will be a huge loss to them, I know they have a strong panel but they dont have someone as strong and as experienced on the bench.

In the intermediates i fancy Newbridge and the reason is they weresimplyt awesom against Whitecross a Div 1 Armagh out fit (although since relegated) and Dermott dougan is putting in some fine performances of both score taking and play making.  its like a blast from the past when he was doing the same for Derry in the No. 11.  However i have to admit i havent seen Dunloy in any shape or form.
If it moves hit it
If it doesnt hit it anyway!!

orangeman

I'll go for St. Galls, Dromore and Newbridge

clarshack

glenullin and dromore in senior.

ballinagh and newbridge in intermediate.

rock and aughnamullan in junior.

on the cavan thread they were saying that ballinagh actually won the Division 1 league in cavan last year so in my eyes they are hardly an intermediate team so they'll likely end up going far in the competition.

also this year in the ulster intermediate championship, whitecross (armagh) and dunloy (antrim) play in the top flight in their respective counties while Fanad (Donegal) play in 1B. this sort of thing goes on every year so talk of teams from tyrone strolling to croke park from next year should be treated with caution. yes they will have a good chance of doing well but there will be other good division 1 teams from other counties in the shake up too.

Who are the key men for the rock? they gave Lissan a bit of a lesson in the last round and they were well thought of in terms of Junior Championship credentials Although it must be stated they are a Div 5 team but a solid outfit  none the less.

no disrespect to derry junior football but its the same level as division 3 reserve in tyrone. i was surprised that the rock didnt win by more.

key men for the rock are ciaran gourley, martin mccreesh, and the two gervins.

TG4's schedule says they are showing a Leinster hurling semi live on Sunday - presumably Ballyhale Shamrocks v Birr.
That's a real shame for Dromore & Crossmaglen people unable to get to Clones.
:(

dromore and crossmaglen would be a bigger ratings puller!

Aaron Boone

TG4 have shown football the last two Sundays, so it's as much politics them showing the hurling this time around. Odds on Ballyhale are 4/11 with PP so they are expected to win.

Highlights of as many games as TG4 can fit in are shown at 8.30pm Monday.
It's token stuff really. You'll see as much about the AIL rugby on Monday's papers as you will the provincial club championships.

orangeman

I wouldn't over estimate the attraction of football - Hurling has a huge following and the Ballyhale v Birr game would appeal to the majority.

billy the kid

Totally right Orangeman. Cross Dromore might have a bigger following up here but the leinster semi between Ballyhale (Present Alllireland Champions) and Birr ( All Ireland champions a few times since 1995 and very recently) would have a much bigger pull nation wide. Also remember alot of people up here cant even get Tg4.

Wish I was going to see Mc Mennamin and Mc Conville tangle. Going to watch the Glennulin And St Galls Match it should be good St Galls hot Favourites but Glenullin wont be far away.  Would love to see Glenullin & Dromore in final as it would be good for Ulster football to have to New teams in the final.

I know its early but has anyone heard any rumours re club managers for next season?  I know that Tiffy Quinn is a cert for the Errigal post but that is it.
Beer, now there's a temporary solution!!!
