absolute disgrace that someone jailed fr 4 years with out any evidence being presented, without being charged, without a trial etc.

If it was anywhere else in the UK there would have been a public outcry, but not NI - they can get away with it over here.

Martin Corey should still take his case to the Europe, as they were planning to do, it needs to be investigated and the Brits need to be told they cannot do it again.
+1.
Was it a case of getting info from some informer and they wanted to keep it quiet knowing that if they made the info public everyone would know who the tout was???
Mind you if these "Dissidents" got off the stage it would help.

Was there not a policy of de-centralising Government bodies to more regional towns in the south, possibly 10 plus years ago and it died a death as no one wanted to move out from Dublin to these new office buildings?
That was a McCreevy back of an envelope plan announced on a Budget Day because he had nothing else to say to grab headlines.
Then it became a case of send some Office, Dept, Body to any town where there's a FF TD. Of course if land could be bought from some FF supporting owner at a big price all the better. ( FÁS to Birr e.g - Director of FAS was a Biffo....)
Meanwhile a few years later Longford, Mullingar and Cavan? Barracks were closed. Proper planning would have seen various Offices re located to those buildings when the Army were moved out. But that would mean no land sales, no new buildings......

Mind you some folks from these parts were able to transfer back to Carrick on Shannon and Ros town.

I hope we'll be one of them but this has always been the tightest of Divisions over the years.
A good early start in the February games is the key for us this year.

I'm not up to speed with the IT these days. How would people rate this team?

On an almost Moyna level of quality, CK.

Take your tongue out of his a*** y'eejiteen. ::)

Indeed. I'd thought that this was introduced last year. I still find it a stretch to believe it's for copyright reasons though. Surely they'd have explained this as being the reason, if that were the case? And as I say, I'd very much doubt if there's a roaring trade in 9 carat gold All-Ireland medal knock-offs. I can only imagine it was a case of pushing the new logo at the expense of the harp as worn on the jersey of of one Sam Maguire.

(Centre, holding the ball)

Some things should be left alone, and the traditional All-Ireland medal, in my view, was one such thing.

I don't think they should have changed the jerseys either.
Back to 21 a side and point posts and every player grow a big moustache.

Aye - much better to have lads gettin' hip operations in their 20s - something which usually isn't required by anyone under 60.

Semi finals:

Kildare v UCD
Meath v DCU
Presumably tresurer of Comhairle Laighin praying for the 2 Counties to win next week €€€
Syfín - please get off the DCU bandwagon. They are NOT a Ros team, only a fcukin hindrance to our efforts ya "nice ladeen".

Aye, attending the best sports university in the country must be a terrible cross for our ladeens to carry :-*

Well some senior members of the Roscommon Senior team wouldn't agree with you Syferus as they have prepared a motion for congress for intercounty players  to be ineligible for Sigerson due to the negative effect it was having on Roscommons preparation and involvement in the league.
Time that Sigerson thing was played before Christmas if Inter County U21s/Seniors aren't barred.

It's just another one of th'eejiteen's bandwagons. ::)
He/she was wettin' himself/herself with excitement 15 or 16 months ago when there was a rumour doing the rounds that we were after Moyna as Senior Co Manager.

A nice  little winín for our bucks today.
Good effort and workrate but needless to say slackened off in the 2nd half with the game won at h/t.
Real test next week as the tanned men of Mwr will not be taking things easy against us.

Well done lads. I hear from my spies that we were pretty impressive. I suppose it depends on how strong a team Kildare had out.
Syfín are we defo in the Semis? If we lose to the Westies and Kildare beat Clare will it all come down to score difference?

GAA Discussion / Re: "Supporting" other counties....
January 10, 2014, 05:18:13 PM
I only support Ros County teams.
However I might from time to time "shout for" some other County depending on who they're playing usually ( e.g. Mayowr,Kerry or Dublin etc )  or where they're underdogs.
