Forget fines or individual punishments. Ban them from adult football. Soon bring them into line.

GAA Discussion / Re: Soccer in GAA grounds ?

I don't see the big deal. Presuming the soccer club is part of the same community? Presuming kids from the school are members of both gaa and soccer clubs? I know of clubs who allow the use of their facilities to other sporting organisations and guess what the world didn't end, their club didn't fold and they have a nice wee revenue earner on the back of it

Nice gesture. Yes he's filthy rich and what he gave is pittance but so what? I don't ever recall my club getting money handed to them anytime recently without having to compete with, among others, Orange halls for funds, grants etc

Fair play to Lisburn. Would they're be any sort of cross community make up of its membership?

I hate the way Armagh groups their championships, why wouldn't you just have straight knockout like other counties?  Must take away hugely from the championship itself.  It seems a bit of a nonsense.

You would get people in Armagh who would probably agree with you, or would like to see some adjustments made to the existing system, but for all that the sense I get is that there have been excellent attendances at the games and a great deal of interest / excitement brought about by what is a novel system.

The system itself has been reached through a lot of trial and error and I reckon now is as close to perfect as is possible, with league and championship closely linked and all teams getting a number of Championship games, once the league issues have been resolved.
I'm reserving judgment until the championship ends. Not very many shocks in Senior, a few teams had the luxury of an off day which the set up allows for, ultimately the cream rises to the top and apart from Madden who should be commended for reaching the last 8 all the big dogs have made it out of the groups. Intermediate is interesting enough with all teams capable of beating each other and you can't really pick any certain winners from the quarter finals

Interesting  that the club who proposed this set up didn't make it out of their group which I found hilarious

Team in Armagh apparently amassed 8 red cards in 4 championship games. Doesn't make good reading but from what I gather they weren't involved in any brawls. Sometimes when refs strictly lay down the law, especially in championship, tackles and challenges that one might get away with in the league are punished more strictly.  Could apply the same to Moy/Edendork's match

Therein lies the problem. Why is it ok to throw money at Dublin but not Derry or Belfast?

How about not changing anything? These rules are stupid and half the time aren't implemented. I've played senior football for 14+ years and does everyone on the field wear a gumshield? No. Do I see black cards being issued correctly, if at all? No. Has the mark done anything to encourage more high fielding? No.

I can safely say I dread the these conversations, they only come about because one of the best teams of all time is at their peak or because slaughtneil and magherafelt playing puke football for about a minute has just went viral.

I'm with milltown. All well and good being on your high horse until you find one of these undesireables trespassing looking for something to steal so they can pawn it to get more drink and drugs. Had it plenty of times, wander into our yard hoping to find a door lying open so they can sneak in and help themselves to whatever they can get their hands on. Have had c***ts making their way into the attic before!

Again you miss the point. What about their employees?

I'm sure you'd be happy to be out of a job for 4 months.
What about them? 0 hour contracts and minimum wage? How many of the 300 staff are full time? They're being paid for the rest of the year regardless. Tearing the thing down and rebuilding isn't exactly an overnight job either

Who was yer man on BBCNI news yesterday, Jesus he wasn't impressed.

Was it the CEO of Argento, the jewellery store that can't open? Saw him on the BBC website.
My heart bleeds for this poor millionaire

Maybe you could consider the employment and well-being of the employees in the store, genius.
They've been relocated, I don't see the big deal. It's four months. Not ideal, but tearing down what's left of one the city's most iconic buildings so they can get back to trading ASAP would be a much greater shame.

You're on a roll. What about all the Zara staff? Have they been relocated too?
If there were fatalities would he have been so keen to rip what's left of it down? Apologies for caring about preserving what's left of Belfast's built heritage. It's 4 f**king months. Again, I'm sure multinationals like Zara will cope
